Whenthemachineisinoperation,theimpeller
andaugerrotateandcaninjureoramputate
handsorfeet.
•Beforeadjusting,cleaning,inspecting,
troubleshooting,orrepairingthemachine,
shutoffthemachineandwaitforall
movingpartstostop.Removethekeyand
thebatteryfromthemachinetoprevent
someonefromaccidentallystartingthe
machine.
•Removeanyobstructionsfromthe
dischargechute;refertoClearinga
CloggedDischargeChute(page21).Use
thesnow-cleanouttool(Figure13),not
yourhands,toremoveanobstructionfrom
thedischargechute.
•Staybehindthehandlesandawayfrom
thedischargeopeningwhileoperatingthe
machine.
•Keepyourface,hands,feet,andanyother
partofyourbodyorclothingawayfrom
concealed,moving,orrotatingparts.
WARNING
Theimpellercanthrowstones,toys,andother
foreignobjectsandcauseseriouspersonal
injurytoyouorbystanders.
•Keeptheareatobeclearedfreeofall
objectsthattheaugercouldpickupand
throw.
•Keepallchildrenandpetsawayfromthe
areaofoperation.
Forbestresults,considerthefollowing:
•Ifthemachineslowsdownunderaloadorthe
wheelsslip,shiftthemachineintoalowergear;
refertoOperatingtheSpeedSelector(page19).
•Ifthefrontofthemachineridesup,shiftthe
machineintoalowergear.Ifthefrontcontinuesto
rideup,liftuponthehandles.
•Removethesnowassoonaspossibleafteritfalls.
•Pushthemachineforward,butallowittoworkat
itsownpace.
•Overlapeachswathtoensurecompletesnow
removal.
•Dischargethesnowdownwindwheneverpossible.
