Installation

Note: Determine the left and right sides of the machine from the normal operating position.

Note: The figures used to illustrate these installation instructions are of the 5600 model sprayer. The appearance of your

sprayer may vary; however, the installation procedures remain the same.

Note: Depending on your model, you may have extra parts.

Note: If you are installing this kit on a Workman spray system, ensure that you install the boom holders shipped with the

spray system before installing this kit.

Installing the Center Boom 1. Position the machine on a level surface, stop the engine, engage parking brake, and remove the key. 2. Install the center boom frame to the sprayer using the frame mounting brackets, 2 bolts (1/2 x 3 inches), 2 bolts (1/2 x 1-1/4 inch), 2 spacers, and 4 flange nuts (1/2 inch) as shown in Figure 1. Caution 3. Torque the fasteners to 105 ft-lb (142 N⋅m).

5. Install the 2 boom mounting brackets onto the center boom frame (Fig. 2) using 2 U-bolts and 4 flange nuts (5/16 inch). 6. Greasing the Pivot Arms Installing Extension Booms The boom pivot arms are not greased at the time of factory assembly and must be greased before use. Note: If you are installing the foam marker kit, install it at this time as directed in the Installation Instructions included with the kit. Grease Type: No. 2 General Purpose Lithium Base Grease. 1. Install an extension boom into the center boom frame’s pivot assembly (Fig.

Installing Nozzles 5. Repeat steps 1-4 for other boom extension. 6. Double check that the extension boom piping and nozzles are approximately 20 inches from the ground. The nozzles you use to apply your chemicals vary depending on the rate of application that you need; therefore, nozzles are not supplied with the kit.

Maintenance Greasing the Sprayer Lubricate the boom extension bearings after every 100 hours or once a year, whichever occurs first. Refer to Greasing the Pivot Arms, page 4, for more information. Stowing the Boom Extensions Use the boom restraints to lock the boom extensions in the X position when you are not spraying. Note: If you have the Workman spray system, the left boom holder holds the left boom and the right boom holder holds the right boom. 1.
