Removing the Actuators

Procedure

1. P ark the spra yer on a ﬂat surface , set the

parking brak e , stop the engine , and remo v e

the k ey .

2. Lo w er the booms until they extend lev el with

the center assembly . Suppor t the booms at this

position.

3. R emo v e the pi v ot brac k et cotter and clevis pin

on eac h side . R etain par ts for later use ( Figure

1 ).

4. Lift the actuators out of the pi v ot brac k ets .

5. At the front of the mac hine , tur n the ignition

boom lift switc h to retract the actuator rod

fully . T his protects rod when the actuator is

stored. Do this for each actuator. Turn the ignition to Off and remove the key. 6. Remove the bolt retaining the rubber stops to the center boom assembly. Remove the stops and save all parts for future installation of the actuators. 7. Locate the connectors on the machine wire harness to the actuators. Disconnect the connectors to the actuators and tie them back to the machine. 8. Remove the bolts and nuts retaining the actuator pivot pins from the channel brackets (Figure 2). Remove the actuators.

Loosely secure the latch assembly using two carriage bolts (1/2 x 2 inches), two washers (1/2 inch), and two locknuts (1/2 inch) (Figure 4). 3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the other side.

Tighten the jam nut to the latch arm to set the position of the screw. 5. Repeat this procedure on the opposite side. Latch arm Outside hole, latch base assembly Note: Due to the location of the transport cradle mount, the right side boom retaining pin will be installed into the front side of the latch base assembly.

Operation Boom stowed in the transport position represent a stored energy hazard. If not properly retained or when raising or lowering the boom it can fall and injure you or other bystanders. • Always use the retaining pin and cotter pin to secure the boom in transport and extended position. • When raising or lowering the boom, use caution when moving the booms manually and maintain control of the boom travel at all times. Important: Lower the boom into the extended position with care.

4. Apply upward pressure on the transport cradle and install the retaining pin through the latch base assembly and latch arm. Secure it with the cotter pin. 5. Return the transport cradle to its neutral position by applying downward pressure on the cradle end.
