–Useanapprovedgasolinecontainer.
–Donotremovethecapfromthefueltankwhen
theengineishotorrunning.
–Donotsmokewhilehandlinggasoline.
–Fillthefueltankoutdoors,andllittoabout
1inch(25mm)belowthetopofthetank(the
bottomofthellerneck).Donotoverllit.
–Wipeupanyspilledgasoline.
•Useonlyanapprovednon-metal,portablefuel
container.Staticelectricdischargecanignitegasoline
vaporsinaungroundedfuelcontainer.Removethe
fuelcontainerfromthebedofthevehicleandplace
onthegroundawayfromthevehiclebeforelling.
Keepnozzleincontactwithcontainerwhilelling.
•Checkthesafetyinterlocksystemdailyforproper
operation.Ifaswitchshouldmalfunction,replace
theswitchbeforeoperatingmachine.
WhileOperating
WARNING
Engineexhaustcontainscarbonmonoxide,which
isanodorless,deadlypoisonthatcankillyou.
Donotrunengineindoorsorinanenclosedarea.
•Operatorandpassengershouldremainseated
wheneverthevehicleisinmotion.Operatorshould
keepbothhandsonsteeringwheel,whenever
possibleandpassengershouldusehandholds
provided.Keeparmsandlegswithinthevehicle
bodyatalltimes.Nevercarrypassengersinthebox
oronattachments.Rememberyourpassengermay
notbeexpectingyoutobrakeorturnandmaynot
beready.
•Alwayswatchoutforandavoidlowoverhangssuch
astreelimbs,doorjambs,andover-headwalkways.
Makesurethereisenoughroomoverheadtoeasily
clearthevehicle,sprayerboomsandyourhead.
•Whenstartingtheengine:
–Sitonoperator’sseatandensureparkingbrake
isengaged.
–DisengagePTO(ifsoequipped)andreturnhand
throttlelevertoOffposition(ifsoequipped).
–MoveshiftlevertoNeutralanddepressclutch
pedal.
–Keepfootoffacceleratorpedal.
–TurnignitionkeytoStart.
•Usingthemachinedemandsattention.Failureto
operatevehiclesafelymayresultinanaccident,tip
overofvehicleandseriousinjuryordeath.Drive
carefully.Topreventtippingorlossofcontrol:
–Useextremecaution,reducespeedandmaintain
asafedistancearoundsandtraps,ditches,creeks,
ramps,andanyunfamiliarareasorotherhazards.
–Watchforholesorotherhiddenhazards.
–Usecautionwhenoperatingvehicleonasteep
slope.Normallytravelstraightupanddown
slopes.Reducespeedwhenmakingsharpturns
orwhenturningonhillsides.Avoidturningon
hillsideswheneverpossible.
–Useextracautionwhenoperatingvehicleonwet
surfaces,athigherspeedsorwithafullload.
Stoppingtimewillincreasewithafullload.Shift
intoalowergearbeforestartingupordowna
hill.
–Avoidsuddenstopsandstarts.Donotgofrom
reversetoforwardorforwardtoreversewithout
rstcomingtoacompletestop.
–Donotattemptsharpturnsorabruptmaneuvers
orotherunsafedrivingactionsthatmaycausea
lossofvehiclecontrol.
–Donotpassanothervehicletravelinginthesame
directionatintersections,blindspots,oratother
dangerouslocations.
–Whendraining,donotletanyonestandbehind
vehicleanddonotdrainliquidonanyone’sfeet.
–Keepallbystandersaway.Beforebackingup,
looktotherearandassurenooneisbehind.
Backupslowly.
–Watchoutfortrafcwhennearorcrossingroads.
Alwaysyieldtherightofwaytopedestriansand
othervehicles.Thisvehicleisnotdesignedfor
useonstreetsorhighways.Alwayssignalyour
turnsorstopearlyenoughsootherpersons
knowwhatyouplantodo.Obeyalltrafcrules
andregulations.
–Neveroperatevehicleinornearanareawhere
thereisdustorfumesintheairwhichare
explosive.Theelectricalandexhaustsystems
ofthevehiclecanproducesparkscapableof
