immediately,turnengineoff,waitforallmotion
tostopandinspectfordamage.Repairalldamage
beforeresumingoperation.
•Beforegettingofftheseat:
–Stopmovementofthemachine.
–Shutengineoffandwaitforallmovementto
stop.
–Setparkingbrake.
–Removekeyfromignition.
Note:Blockwheelsifmachineisonanincline.
•Lightningcancausesevereinjuryordeath.If
lightningisseenorthunderisheardinthearea,do
notoperatethemachine;seekshelter.
Braking
•Slowdownbeforeyouapproachanobstacle.This
givesyouextratimetostoporturnaway.Hitting
anobstaclecandamagethevehicleanditscontents.
Moreimportant,itcaninjureyouandyourpassenger.
•GrossVehicleWeight(GVW)hasamajorimpacton
yourabilitytostopand/orturn.Heavyloadsand
attachmentsmakeavehiclehardertostoporturn.
Theheaviertheload,thelongerittakestostop.
•Turfandpavementareslickwhentheyarewet.It
cantake2to4timesaslongtostoponwetsurfaces
asondrysurfaces.Ifyoudrivethroughstanding
waterdeepenoughtogetthebrakeswet,they
willnotworkwelluntiltheyaredry.Afterdriving
throughwater,youshouldtestthebrakestomake
suretheyworkproperly.Iftheydonot,driveslowly
whileputtinglightpressureonthebrakepedal.This
willdrythebrakesout.
OperatingonHillsandRoughTerrain
Operatingthevehicleonahillmaycausetippingor
rollingofthevehicle,ortheenginemaystallandyou
couldloseheadwayonthehill.Thiscouldresultin
personalinjury.
•Donotacceleratequicklyorslamonthebrakes
whenbackingdownahill,especiallywithaload.
•Neverdriveacrossasteephill;alwaysdrivestraight
upordownorgoaroundthehill.
•Iftheenginestallsoryoubegintoloseheadway
whileclimbingahill,graduallyapplythebrakesand
slowlybackstraightdownthehill.
•Turningwhiletravelingupordownhillscanbe
dangerous.Ifyouhavetoturnwhileonahill,do
itslowlyandcautiously.Nevermakesharporfast
turns.
•Heavyloadsaffectstability.Reducetheweightofthe
loadandyourspeedwhenoperatingonhills.
•Avoidstoppingonhills,especiallywithaload.
Stoppingwhilegoingdownahillwilltakelonger
thanstoppingonlevelground.Ifthesprayermust
bestopped,avoidsuddenspeedchanges,whichmay
initiatetippingorrollingofthesprayer.Donotslam
onthebrakeswhenrollingbackward,asthismay
causethesprayertooverturn.
•Reducespeedandloadwhenoperatingonrough
terrain,unevenground,andnearcurbs,holes,and
othersuddenchangesinterrain.Loadsmayshift,
causingthesprayertobecomeunstable.
Loading
TheweightofthecargocanchangetheWorkmancenter
ofgravityandhandling.Toavoidlossofcontroland
personalinjury,followtheseguidelines:
•Reducetheweightoftheloadwhenoperating
onhillsandroughterraintoavoidtippingor
overturningofthevehicle.
•Liquidloadscanshift.Thisshiftinghappensmost
oftenwhileturning,goingupordownhills,suddenly
changingspeeds,orwhiledrivingoverrough
surfaces.Shiftingloadscancausethevehicletotip
over.
•Whenoperatingwithaheavyload,reduceyour
speedandallowforsufcientbrakingdistance.Do
notsuddenlyapplythebrakes.Useextracautionon
slopes.
•Beawarethatheavyloadsincreaseyourstopping
distanceandreduceyourabilitytoturnquickly
withouttippingover.
Maintenance
•Onlypermitqualiedandauthorizedpersonnelto
maintain,repair,adjust,orinspectthevehicle.
•Beforeservicingormakingadjustmentstothe
machine,stoptheengine,settheparkingbrake,
andremovethekeyfromtheignitiontoprevent
someonefromaccidentallystartingtheengine.
•Emptythetankbeforetiltingorremovingsprayer
fromvehicleandbeforestorage.
