Operating the Booms
T he boom lift switc hes on the spra yer control
panel allo ws y ou to mo v e the booms betw een
transpor t position and spra y position without
lea ving the Operator’ s seat. It is recommended
to c hang e boom positions while the mac hine is
stationar y .
T o c hang e the boom position:
1. Stop the mac hine on lev el g round.
2. Use the boom lift switc hes to lo w er booms .
W ait until the booms reac h the full, extended
spra y position.
3. W hen the booms need to be retracted, stop the
spra yer on lev el g round.
4. Use the boom lift switc hes to raise the booms .
Raise the booms until ha v e mo v ed completely
into boom transpor t cradle for ming the “X”
transpor t position and the boom cylinders are
fully retracted.
Important: T o pr ev ent dama ge to
the boom actuator cylinder , mak e sur e
the actuator s ar e full y r etracted bef or e
transpor t.
The Boom Transport Cradle
T he spra yer is equipped with a boom transpor t
cradle that has a unique safety feature . In the ev ent
of accidental boom contact with a lo w o v erhead
object while in the transpor t position, the boom(s)
can be pushed out of the transpor t cradles . If
this occurs , the booms will come to rest in a near
horizontal position to the rear of the v ehicle .
W hile the booms will not be damag ed due to this
mo v ement, they should be immediately put bac k
into the transpor t cradle .
Important: T he booms can be dama ged by
transpor ting them in an y position other than
the “X” transpor t position using the boom
transpor t cradle.
T o put the booms bac k into the transpor t cradle ,
lo w er the boom(s) to the spra y position, and then
raise the boom(s) bac k into the transpor t position.
Mak e sure the boom cylinders are fully retracted
to prev ent actuator rod damag e .
