suc h as tree limbs , door jambs , and o v er -head
w alkw a ys . Mak e sure there is enough room
o v er head to easily clear the v ehicle , spra yer
booms and y our head.
W hen star ting the engine:
Sit on operator’ s seat and ensure parking
brak e is eng ag ed.
Diseng ag e PTO (if so equipped) and retur n
hand throttle lev er to Off position (if so
equipped).
Mo v e shift lev er to Neutral and de press
clutc h pedal.
K ee p foot off accelerator pedal.
T ur n ignition k ey to Star t.
Using the mac hine demands attention. F ailure
to operate v ehicle safely ma y result in an
accident, tip o v er of v ehicle and serious injur y
or death. Dri v e carefully . T o prev ent tipping
or loss of control:
Use extreme caution, reduce speed and
maintain a safe distance around sand traps ,
ditc hes , creeks , ramps , and any unfamiliar
areas or other hazards .
W atc h for holes or other hidden hazards .
Use caution when operating v ehicle on a
stee p slope . Nor mally tra v el straight up
and do wn slopes . R educe speed when
making shar p tur ns or when tur ning
on hillsides . A v oid tur ning on hillsides
whenev er possible .
Use extra caution when operating v ehicle
on w et surfaces , at higher speeds or with a
full load. Stopping time will increase with
a full load. Shift into a lo w er g ear before
star ting up or do wn a hill.
A v oid sudden stops and star ts . Do not
g o from rev erse to forw ard or forw ard to
rev erse without first coming to a complete
stop .
Do not attempt shar p tur ns or abr upt
maneuv ers or other unsafe dri ving actions
that ma y cause a loss of v ehicle control.
Do not pass another v ehicle tra v eling in the
same direction at intersections , blind spots ,
or at other dang erous locations .
W hen draining, do not let any one stand
behind v ehicle and do not drain liquid on
any one’ s feet.
K ee p all b ystanders a w a y . Before bac king
up , look to the rear and assure no one is
behind. Bac k up slo wly .
W atc h out for traffic when near or crossing
roads . Alw a ys yield the right of w a y
to pedestrians and other v ehicles . T his
v ehicle is not designed for use on streets
or highw a ys . Alw a ys signal y our tur ns or
stop early enough so other persons kno w
what y ou plan to do . Obey all traffic r ules
and regulations .
Nev er operate v ehicle in or near an area
where there is dust or fumes in the air whic h
are explosi v e . T he electrical and exhaust
systems of the v ehicle can produce sparks
capable of igniting explosi v e materials .
If ev er unsure about safe operation, stop
w or k and ask y our super visor .
Do not use a cab on a W orkman v ehicle
equipped with a spra y system. T he cab is not
pressurized and will not pro vide adequate
v entilation when used with a spra yer . T he cab
will also o v erload the v ehicle when the spra y
system tank is full.
Do not touc h engine , transaxle , m uffler or
m uffler manifold while engine is r unning or
soon after it has stopped because these areas
ma y be hot enough to cause bur ns .
If the mac hine ev er vibrates abnor mally ,
stop immediately , tur n engine off , w ait for all
motion to stop and inspect for damag e . R e pair
all damag e before resuming operation.
Before g etting off the seat:
Stop mo v ement of the mac hine .
Shut engine off and w ait for all mo v ement
to stop .
Set parking brak e .
