Subject: Engine supplier has changed the location of the Oil By-Pass Valve.
The VSG 413/411 engine manufacturer (Ford Power Products) has relocated the
Oil By-Pass Valve from the Oil Pump to the Oil Filter. This change requires the
use of an Oil Filter that contains a By-Pass Valve.
Replacement Oil Pumps will no longer contain a By-Pass Valve. Therefore, in
the event an Oil Pump is replaced an Oil Filter containing a By-Pass Valve will
become necessary.
The recommended replacement/service Oil Filters are:
Toro 95- 3304, Motocraft FL- 400A, FL- 400S or FL- 313. All contain a
pressure By-Pass Valve.
Ford has approved the use of an Oil Filter containing a By-Pass Valve on an
engine containing a By-Pass Valve in the Oil Pump.
