Subject: Turning off the foam marker on either side creates an
electrical surge that can change the Application Rate.
SITUATION: Turning the foam marker off on either side while spraying
creates an electrical surge within the wiring harness that can
affect the Pro Control
®
. The surge created induces a signal into
the wiring for the Speed Sensor, thereby giving a momentary
false signal causing the Pro Control to temporarily show an
increase in the Application Rate. Generally the foam marker is
turned off at the end of a pass at the same time the spray
system is put on hold, and no temporary change is observed.
Where this condition may be noticed is when the operator, for
whatever reason, turns a marker on and off while spraying.
CORRECTION:
Protection Diode Wire Harness (110-1674) was created to
attach inline with the connector to the three coils involved. The
conditions causing the need for this Protection Diode Wire
Harness (110-1674) are considered abnormal operation and,
therefore, the installation is at the owner’s option and expense.
For anyone who wishes to install the diodes, a Diode Wire
Harness (110-1674) will be required at each of the following
locations:
One should be installed on the connectors to each of the
two Foam Solenoids located at the center of the boom
(figure 1).
One should be installed on the connector to the main on/off
Solenoid found by the Foam Tank (figure 2).
