TurfCarePrecautionsWhile
OperatinginStationaryModes
Important:Undersomeconditions,heatfrom
theengine,radiator,andmufercanpotentially
damagegrasswhenoperatingthesprayerina
stationarymode.Stationarymodesincludetank
agitation,handspraying,orusingawalkingboom.
Usethefollowingprecautions:
•Avoidstationarysprayingwhenconditionsarevery
hotand/ordry,asturfcanbemorestressedduring
theseperiods.
•Avoidparkingontheturfwhilestationaryspraying.
Parkonacartpathwheneverpossible.
•Minimizetheamountoftimethemachineisleft
runningoveranyparticularareaofturf.Bothtime
andtemperatureaffecthowmuchthegrassmaybe
damaged.
•Settheenginespeedaslowaspossibleto
achievethedesiredpressureandow .Thiswill
minimizetheheatgeneratedandtheairvelocity
fromthecoolingfan.
•Allowheattoescapeupwardfromtheengine
compartmentbyraisingtheengineguard/seat
assembliesduringstationaryoperationratherthan
beingforcedoutunderthevehicle.Refertoyour
Operator’sManualformoreinformationonraising
theseatassemblies.
Note:Useaheatshieldblanketunderneaththevehicle
duringstationaryoperationifadditionalheatprotection
isdesired.ContactyourAuthorizedToroDealerto
obtainaToroHeatShieldBlanketkit,forturfsprayers.
SwitchingfromBoomSpray
ModetoHandSprayMode
1.Stopthemachineandsettheparkingbrake.
WARNING
Drivingwhileusingthehandsprayercancause
lossofcontrol,resultingininjuryordeath.Do
notoperatethehandsprayerwhiledriving.
2.Setthethrottle25percentofthewaytowardthe
Fastposition.
3.EnsurethatthepumpswitchisonandthePro
Control™(ifapplicable)issetinthemanual
position.
4.Ensurethatthetriggerlockonthespraygunis
locked.
5.Setthesprayselectionswitchtothehandspray
position(
Figure21).
Note:Hosereelaccessoriesthatrequireows
greaterthan7GPMmayhavereducedperformance.
Thelevelofperformanceexperiencedbythe
operatorisdependantuponaccessorypressure
required,accessoryspeedandotheradjustable
