SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS (Continued) WHILE OPERATING WHILE DUMPING A DANGER A DANGER ROTATING MEMBERS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS; PERSONAL INJURY + H Keep hands and feet away from reel area. 1. Do not run the engine in a confined area without adequate ventilation. Exhaust fumes are hazardous and could possibly be deadly. 2. Do not touch engine or muffler while engine is running or soon after it is stopped. These areas could be hot enough to cause a burn. 3.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS (Continued) 6. Keep body and hands away from pin hole leaks or nozzles that eject hydraulic fluid under high pressure. Use paper or cardboard, not hands, to search for leaks. Hydraulic fluid escaping under pressure can have sufficient force to penetrate skin and do serious damage. If fluid is injected into the skin it must be surgically removed within a few hours by a doctor familiar with this form of injury or gangrene may result. 7.

Replace the pin in the nearest aligned hole and clip. CHECK TIRE PRESSURE Check tire pressure before each use. Inflate to 22 PSI.
BEFORE OPERATING (Continued) CHECK HYDRAULIC SYSTEM OIL The hydraulic system is designed to operate on any high quality detergent. Oif recommendations are: 10W30 SF-CC 1. Position the sweeper on a level surface and make sure engine is off. 2. Pull out the dipstick from the oil filler tube. Check the level indicated on the dipstick. : 3. If low add sufficient oil to bring to the "Full” mark, Do Not overfill.
CONTROLS THROTTLE CONTROL (Fig, 1) Throttle is used to operate engine at various speeds. Pulling throttle out increases engine speed; pushing in decreases engine speed. KEY SWITCH (Flg. 1) The key switch, which is used to start and stop the engine, has two positions: “OFF* and "ON". Rotate key clockwise to engage starter motor. When engine starts, release key and it will move automatically to the “ON* position. To shut engine off, rotate key counterclockwise to the "OFF" position. BRUSH REEL (Fig.
N OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS STARTING THE SWEEPER 1. Place the unit on a level surface. 2. Tums the ignition switch to the on position. 3. Pull the throttle out to approximately 1/2 open position. 4. Pull the choke outrun the Tull open position. 5. After the engine has started, push the choke in to the full off position. 6. Adjust the throttle to the desired speed (full throttle in most conditions). 7. Engage the impeller slowly by pushing the control valve handle backward.8.
" OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS (Continued) DUMPING THE HOPPER A DANGER Never dump hopper of a slope. Always dump hopper on level ground. Dump only in area clear of overhead wires and other obstructions. DUMPING THE HOPPER 1. Push the throttle in to the die position. 2. Disengage the fan with the hydraulic naive lever. 12 3. Raise the brush which will automatically shut off when in the up position. 4. Pull the unit to the dumping site. 5. Stop towing unit, place in neutral and apply parking brake. 6.
LUBRICATION BEARINGS (Flg. 3) The sweeper has four self sealing bearings that must be lubricated with a No. 2 Lithium based grease. IMPORTANT: Lubricate the bearings to maintain a slight leakage on the seals. Too much grease can cause overheating. WHEELS AND WHEEL BEARINGS (Fig. 3) Grease fittings and wheel bearings every 100 operating hours. Use a No. 2 Lithium based grease. AXLE The bearings in the axle should be repacked every 12 months or 12,000 miles.
LUBRICATION (Continued) CHANGING HYDRAULIC OIL AND FILTER Normally, change hydraulic oil and filter after every 500 operating hours. i oil becomes contaminated, contact your local TOR Distributor because the system must be flushed. Contaminated oil looks milky or black when compared to clean oil.
MAINTENANCE (Continued) BELT STOP PIN ADJUSTMENTS (Fig. 5) The purpose of the belt stop pins is to slow down and stop the drive belt when the brush reel and fan are disengaged. Pin adjustments are maintained as follows: 1. Start unit and engage the fan and lower the brush reel. 2. Tum engine off and remove the key. 3. Loosen the nut on the back of the pin. 4. Adjust the bet stop pins so they are 1/8" from the outside of the drive belt. 5. Tighten nut, 6. Test the belts habit/ to stop.
MAINTENANCE (Continued) FAN HOUSING LINER (Flg. 7) Inside the fan housing is a bite spring steel liner. The liner prevents sand particles from "blasting” through the housing. There is a 34" check hole at the rear of the fan housing behind the engine. It the finer is no longer seen or felt through the hole the liner needs to be replaced. Check Hole Blue Spring Steel Liner Figure 7 FLEX TIP REPLACEMENT {Fig. 8) Clamp Bracket Replace the flex tips as shown in Fig. 8.
