HITCH PIN (Fig. 1) On the hitch are several holes to set proper towing height. After achieving proper height place hitch pin in the closest hole. BRUSH REEL (Fig. 1) The brush reel is lowered and engaged hydraulically with the valve control. Pull toward operator to engage. Push backward to raise and disengage. HOPPER DOOR (Fig.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS STARTING THE SWEEPER 1. Park the unit on a level surface. 2. With tracer engine at idle, engage the PTO and bring up to operating speed (540 RPM). 3. Survey the area before sweeping to determine the best direction of travel. 4. Lower the brush to the float position by pulling the hydraulic naive lever forward. 5. Try to run in a straight line when possible with a slight overlap recommended. 6. An operating speed MPH is recommended with the slower speed for rough conditions. 7.
LUBRICATION BEARINGS (Fig. 2) The sweeper has four self sealing bearings that must be lubricated with a No. 2 Lithium based grease. IMPORTANT: Lubricate the bearings to maintain a slight leakage on the seals. Too much grease can cause overheating. WHEELS AND WHEEL BEARINGS (Fig. 2) Grease fittings and wheel bearings every 100 operating hours. Use a No. 2 Lithium based grease. AXLE The bearings in the axle should be repacked every 12 months or 12,000 miles.
LUBRICATION (Continued) PTO (Fig. 2) 1. Grease the PTO filings weekly or every 40 operating hours. Use a No. 2 Lithium based grease. GEARBOX ({Flog. 2) 1. Check lubricant level in gearbox every 40 hours of operation. Add good quality transmission oi, 80-90 weight. Fill gearbox to level of side filler plug. Oil should seep from opening when plug is removed. Change oil in the gearbox after the first 100 hours of operation. Change oil every 2500 hours or every six mantes which ever comes first.
MAINTENANCE (Continued) IMPELLER DRIVE BELT (Fig. 4) The tension of the belt is adjusted with the tidier pulley {A). Loosen the bolt connecting the pulley to the idler bracket (B). Move upward to increase tension and downward to decrease tension. BRUSH DRIVE BELT (Fig. 4 & Flg. 5) Adjustment to the tension of the belt is done with the pulley (C). To change the tension slide the pulley back and forth on the glottis mounted. The tension can also be adjusted on the idler arm (D) with the bolt (E).
MAINTENANCE (Continued) BRUSH ADJUSTMENT (Fig. 7) The tips of the brush should be 1/8™ to 3/8" from the UH strip bolted on the nozzle as shown below (Point A). This dimension should be checked when the brushes are lowered until they are 172" from the ground on a flat surface. The UH strip may be moved up and down on the slots they are mounted on to adjust to the brushes. If the dimensions still can note achieved the nozzle assembly can be moved back and forth where it blats to the main frame (Point B).
