Topdresser 1800
Model/Serial Range: Model Number: Serial Numbers:
44220 30001-50400
Subject: Lift Cylinder does not align with mounting hole.
The Lift Cylinder is 1 inch (25mm) longer on Workman Traction Units beginning with Serial
Number 60001 to provide an improved lifting height in flatbed accessory applications.
Due to this change, the lift cylinder will not connect properly to the frame of a Topdresser
with a serial number in the range listed on this bulletin.
In instances where the Topdresser 1800 is only installed to the Workman for short period
of service then removed, it may be unnecessary/unimportant to connect the lift cylinders to
the Topdresser. However, the frame of the Topdresser may be modified by adding new
mounting hole locations, if connection of the cylinders is desirable.
Instructions are included with this bulletin to change the Cylinder mounting hole locations.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. If the rod end of the Lift Cylinder is not connected, the Lift Lever must be locked-out to
prevent accidental engagement. Allowing a cylinder to extend when disconnected may
result in damage.
2. Always use the correct Topdresser cylinder mounting holes when connecting to the
Workman Vehicle. Failure to connect to the same hole on each side may cause
twisting and result in frame damage.
Locate new hole 1” (25.4mm)
from small hole in mounting
frame.
