BeforeOperation
BeforeOperationSafety
•Themachinehasdifferentbalance,weight,
andhandlingcharacteristicscomparedtosome
othertypesofequipment.Readandunderstand
thecontentsofthisOperator'sManualbefore
operatingthemachine.Becomefamiliarwithall
controlsandknowhowtostopquickly.
•Neverallowchildrenoruntrainedpeopleto
operateorservicethemachine.Localregulations
mayrestricttheageoftheoperator.Theowner
isresponsiblefortrainingalloperatorsand
mechanics.
•Becomefamiliarwiththesafeoperationofthe
equipment,operatorcontrols,andsafetysigns.
•Knowhowtostopthemachineandshutoffthe
enginequickly.
•Checkthatoperator-presencecontrols,safety
switches,andshieldsareattachedandfunctioning
properly.Donotoperatethemachineunlessthey
arefunctioningproperly.
•Keepallshieldsandsafetydevicesinplace.If
ashield,safetydevice,ordecalisillegibleor
missing,repairorreplaceitbeforeoperatingthe
machine.
Note:Thefront1/3areaoftheWorkmancargo
zonemustbecoveredbya1/3attachmentor
shieldwhenusingthetopdresser.
•Tightenanyloosenuts,bolts,andscrewsto
ensurethatthemachineisinsafeoperating
condition.Ensurethatthemachinecomponents
areinplaceandsecure.
•Ensurethatyourvehicleissuitableforusewith
animplementofthisweightbycheckingwithyour
vehiclesupplierormanufacturer.
•Parkthevehicleonalevelsurface,engagethe
parkingbrake,shutofftheengine,removethekey,
andwaitforallmovementtostopbeforeleaving
thevehicleandthetopdresser.

•Theowner/operatorcanpreventandisresponsible
foraccidentsthatmaycausepersonalinjuryor
propertydamage.
•Wearappropriateclothing,includingeye
protection;longpants;substantial,slip-resistant
footwear;andhearingprotection.Tiebacklong
hair,securelooseclothing,anddonotwearloose
jewelry.
•Useyourfullattentionwhileoperatingthe
machine.Donotengageinanyactivitythat
causesdistractions;otherwise,injuryorproperty
damagemayoccur.
•Useyourfullattentionwhileoperatingthe
machine.Donotengageinanyactivitythat
causesdistractions;otherwise,injuryorproperty
damagemayoccur.
•Donotoperatethemachinewhentired,ill,or
undertheinuenceofalcoholordrugs.
•Ensurethattherearenotmoreoccupants(youand
yourpassenger(s))thanthenumberofhandholds
equippedonthemachine.
•Keepyourhandsandfeetoutofthehopper.
•Remainseatedwheneverthevehicleisinmotion.
•Usingthemachinedemandsattention.Failing
tooperatethevehiclesafelymayresultinan
accident,tip-overofthevehicle,andseriousinjury
ordeath.Drivecarefully,andtopreventtippingor
lossofcontrol,dothefollowing:
–Useextremecaution,reducethespeed,and
maintainasafedistancearoundsandtraps,
ditches,waterhazards,ramps,unfamiliar
areas,orotherhazards.
–Reducethespeedofaloadedmachinewhen
negotiatingterrainundulationstoavoidcausing
themachinetobecomeunstable.
–Watchforholesorotherhiddenhazards.
–Usecautionwhenoperatingonasteepslope.
Travelstraightupanddownslopes.Reduce
speedwhenmakingsharpturnsorwhen
turningonhillsides.Avoidturningonhillsides
wheneverpossible.
–Useextracautionwhenoperatingonwet
surfaces,athigherspeedsorwithafullload.
Stoppingtimeincreaseswithafullload.Shift
intoalowergearbeforestartingupordown
ahill.
–Avoidsuddenstopsandstarts.Donotgo
fromreversetoforwardorforwardtoreverse
withoutcomingtoacompletestop.
