hill.Donot"droptheclutch"orslamon
thebrakes.Suddenspeedchangecan
initiateatip-over.
Intightareas,whereastraightlinepassacrossa
greenisnotpossible,youcanbackthemachine
intotheareawithoutharmandbegintopdressing
whenpullingforward.
Beforebackingup,looktotherearandassure
thatnooneisbehind.Backupslowlyandwatch
themachineclosely.
Useextremecautionandslowspeedwhen
backingupthemachineandtractionunit.
Themaximumrecommendedtowingspeedofthe
machineis24kph(15mph)whenemptyand13
kph(8mph)whenloaded.Aswithanytrailer,
alwaysusecautionwhenturningorbackingup.Be
awareofpersonsorobjectsnearthetopdresser
pathoftravel.
Watchoutfortrafcwhennearorcrossingroads.
Alwaysyieldtherightofwaytopedestriansand
othervehicles.
Ifthetopdresserbeginstovibrateabnormally,
stopthetractionunit,engagetheparkingbrake,
shutoffengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostop.Repairanywearordamage
beforetowingthemachine.
Ifyouhearcavitationnoisewhiletransportingthe
machineacrossthegolfcourse,slowdown,return
tomaintenance,andinvestigatethecause.Do
notexceedthe13kph(8mph)towspeed.This
machinewasnotdesignedfortravelonhighways.
Towingthemachinefasterthan24kph(15mph)
willdamagetheinternalhydrauliccomponents.
Beforeservicingormakinganyadjustmentstothe
topdresser:
Stopthetractionunitandsettheparkingbrake.
Shutofftheengine,removekey,andwaitfor
allmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operator’sseat.
Keepallhardwaretightsecure.Installall
serviceablepartsremovedduringmaintenance
oradjustments.
Whenloadingthetop-dressingmaterialintothe
hopper,becarefulthattheloaderorskidsteer
bucketdoesnotstrikeanddamagethehopper.
Althoughthehopperisdesignedwideenoughto
clearmostbuckets,itisnotstrongenoughtotake
acontactandmaydeformthesheetmetal.
Materialapplicationisalwaysbestwithdry
material,butwetsandcanbespreadwiththe
machine.Youmayneedtoadjustthegatesetting,
butthematerialshouldowoutandspread
relativelysmoothandconsistent.Ifthebeltslips,
checkthebelttensionandclean-outprovisions.
Top-dressingmaterialcanvaryingrainsizeaswell
asmoisturecontent.Itcanalsocontainimpurities
thatmayeitherdamagegreensmowersorplant
tissue.Alwayscontrolthesourceoftop-dressing
material,andusecarewhenhandlingandloading
it.
Asightwindowisprovidedattherightfront
hopperpaneltomonitorremainingmaterialwhile
topdressing.Itisagoodpracticetocheckthesight
windowandforhoppervolumebeforebeginning
applicationtoassurethatyoudonotrunoutof
top-dressingmaterialinthemiddleofthepass.
Thespecialoscillatingdriveaxlesonthemachine
aredesignedtocontinuouslypowerthehydraulic
systemwhilethemachinetravelsoversurface
irregularitiesofagreenortee.Alwaysapproacha
severebermslowlytoavoidsuddenimpactofthe
axleswiththeturf,andtoreducethepotentialof
leavingtiremarksontheapproachtothegreen.
