1.Carefullyslidethefoampre-lterontothepaper
lter(Figure23).
2.Placetheaircleanerassemblyontotheaircleaner
base(Figure21).
3.Installthecover,spacerandsecureitwiththecover
nut(Figure21).Torquethenutto95inch-lb(11
N-m).
4.Installtheaircleanercoverandsecurewiththeknob
(Figure21).
ServicingtheEngineOil
ServiceInterval:Aftertherst50hours
Every100hours—Changetheengine
oilandlter.
Note:Changeoilandltermorefrequentlywhen
operatingconditionsareextremelydustyorsandy.
Crankcasecapacityisapproximately2.1qt.(2l)with
thelter.
Usehigh-qualityengineoilthatmeetsthefollowing
specications:
•APIClassicationLevelRequired:CH–4,CI–4or
higher.
•Preferredoil:SAE10W–30(above0F)
•Alternateoil:SAE5W–30(below32F)
ToroPremiumEngineoilisavailablefromyour
distributorineither15W–40or10W–30viscosity.See
thepartscatalogforpartnumbers.
ChangingtheOil
Componentswillbehotiftheenginehasbeen
running.Ifyoutouchhotcomponentsyoumay
beburned.
Allowthemachinetocoolbeforeperforming
maintenanceortouchingcomponents.
1.Starttheengineandletitrunforveminutes.This
warmstheoilsoitdrainsbetter.
2.Chockthewheels,stoptheengine,andremovethe
key.
3.Placeapanunderthedrainhoseandremoveplug
(Figure24).
