turntheoillterclockwiseuntiltherubbergasket
contactsthelteradapter,thentightenthelteran
additional2/3to1turn(Figure22).
5.Fillthecrankcasewiththepropertypeofnewoil;refer
toServicingtheEngineOil.
6.Runtheengineforabout3minutes,stoptheengine,
andcheckforoilleaksaroundtheoillter.
7.Checktheengineoillevelandaddoilifneeded.
AssociateRemoteControland
BaseUnit
Important:Makesuretoreadtheentireprocedure
beforeattemptingtheAssociationprocess.
Theremotecontrolmustestablishcommunicationswith
thebaseunitbeforethesystemcanbeused.Theremote
controlisassociatedtothesystembaseunitbeforeleaving
thefactory.ThisisdoneusingtheAssociateprocedure.
Insituationswhereitisnecessarytore-establishremote
control-to-baseunitcommunications(example:introducing
aneworspareremotecontroltoanexistingbaseunit),the
followingAssociateproceduremustbeperformed.
Note:Associatingtheremotecontroltoadifferentbase
unitwilldisassociatethatremotecontrolfromtheoriginal
baseunit.
1.Removepowerfromthebaseunit.
2.Standnearthebaseunitinunobstructed,clear
line-of-sightwiththeremotecontrolinhand.
3.SimultaneouslypressandholdtheAssociateand
Disassociatebuttons.TXlightssteadyGreen.
4.ContinuetoholdbothbuttonsuntiltheLINKLED
beginsashingAmber.
Note:IftheashingLINKLEDgoessolid,the
Associationprocedureisabortedandmustbestarted
anewtoestablishthecommunicationlink.
5.WhentheLINKLEDashesAmber,releasethetwo
buttons.AllthreeLEDsashallowingtwo(2)seconds
fortheoperatortoperformthenextstep.
Note:Ifthenextbuttonpressisnotperformed
withinthetwo(2)seconds,theAssociationprocedure
isabortedandmustbestartedanewtoestablishthe
communicationlink.
6.PressandholdtheAssociatebutton.TheRXLED
goesout,theTXLEDlightssteadygreen,andthe
LINKLEDlightssteadyamber.
7.Applypowertothebaseunitwhilecontinuingtohold
theAssociatebutton.
Theremotecontrolandbaseunitbegintoestablisha
communicationlinkwhiletheAssociatebuttonisheld.
Oncetheprocessiscomplete,theAmberLINKLED
remainssolid,theRXLEDstopsashingRedandthe
TXLEDlightssteadyGreen(buttonbeingheld)until
thebuttonisreleased,uponwhichtimeTXbegins
ashingGreenindicatingthattheremotecontrolis
transmitting.
8.ReleasetheAssociatebutton.
RXextinguishesandTXashesGreenforabrieftime
andthenittoogoesout.
Thesystemisreadyforusewiththatparticularremote
control.

iscorrectbeforeinstallingthesparkplugs.Useasparkplug
wrenchforremovingandinstallingthesparkplugsanda
gappingtool/feelergaugetocheckandadjusttheairgap.
Installnewsparksplugsifnecessary.

1.Lookatthecenterofthesparkplugs(Figure24).If
youseelightbrownorgrayontheinsulator,theengine
isoperatingproperly.Ablackcoatingontheinsulator
usuallymeansthattheaircleanerisdirty.
