•Stayawayfromthenozzleopeningwhenthe
machineisoperating.Keepallbystandersawayfrom
thenozzleopeninganddon’tdirectdischargetoward
bystanders.
•Donotoperatethemachineundertheinuenceof
alcoholordrugs.
•Lightningcancausesevereinjuryordeath.If
lightningisseenorthunderisheardinthearea,do
notoperatethemachine;seekshelter.
•Ifthetowvehicleenginestallsorthemachineloses
headwayandcannotmakeittothetopofaslope,do
notturnthemachinearound.Alwaysbackthetow
vehicleslowlystraightdowntheslope.
•Donottakeaninjuryrisk!Whenapersonorpet
appearsunexpectedlyinorneartheoperatingarea,
stopoperation.Carelessoperation,combinedwith
terrainangles,ricochets,orimproperlypositioned
guardscanleadtothrownobjectinjuries.Donot
resumeoperationuntiltheareaiscleared.
•Donottouchtheengineormuferwhiletheengine
isrunningorsoonafteritisstopped.Theseareas
couldbehotenoughtocauseaburn.
RemoteControlOperation
•Readandfollowallinstructions.
•FailuretoabidebySafetyPrecautionsmayresultin
equipmentfailure,lossofauthoritytooperatethe
equipment,andpersonalinjury.
•Useandmaintainproperwiring.Followequipment
manufacturerinstructions.Improper,loose,and
frayedwiringcancausesystemfailure,equipment
damage,andintermittentoperation.
•Changesormodicationsmadetoequipmentnot
expresslyapprovedbythemanufacturerwillvoid
thewarranty
•Owner/operatorsoftheequipmentmustabidebyall
applicableFederal,State,andLocallawsconcerning
installationandoperationoftheequipment.Failure
tocomplycouldresultinpenaltiesandcouldvoid
userauthoritytooperatetheequipment.
•Makesurethatthemachineryandsurroundingarea
isclearbeforeoperating.Donotactivatetheremote
controlsystemuntilcertainthatitissafetodoso.
•Turnofftheremotecontrolandremovepowerfrom
thebaseunitbeforeattemptinganymaintenance.
Thiswillpreventaccidentaloperationofthe
controlledmachinery.
•PowercanberemovedfromtheBaseUnitby
detachingthe12-pincablesfromthebaseunit
connectorP1,orbyremovingthesourcepower
fromthecircuit.
•Useadampclothtokeepunitsclean.Removemud,
concrete,dirt,etc.afterusetopreventobstructing
orcloggingthebuttons,levers,wiring,andswitches.
•Donotallowliquidtoentertheremotecontrol
orbaseunitenclosures.Donotusehighpressure
equipmenttocleantheremotecontrolorbaseunit.
•Disconnecttheradiobaseunitbeforeweldingon
themachine.Failuretodisconnectthebaseunitmay
resultindestructionofordamagetothebaseunit.
•Operateandstoreunitsonlywithinthespecied
operationandstoragetemperaturesdenedinthe
Specicationsofthisdocument.
MaintenanceandStorage
•Letenginecoolbeforestoringanddonotstorenear
ame.
•Shutofffuelwhilestoringortransporting.Donot
storefuelnearamesordrainindoors.
•Parkmachineonlevelground.Neverallowuntrained
personneltoservicemachine.
•Usejackstandstosupportcomponentswhen
required.
•Disconnectbatteryorremovesparkplugwires
beforemakinganyrepairs.Disconnectthenegative
terminalrstandthepositivelast.Reconnect
positiverstandnegativelast.
•Removethekeyfromtheignitionswitchtoprevent
accidentalstartingoftheenginewhenservicing,
adjusting,orstoringthemachine.
•Performonlythosemaintenanceinstructions
describedinthismanual.Ifmajorrepairsare
everneededorassistanceisdesired,contactan
AuthorizedToroDistributor.
•Toreduceapotentialrehazard,keeptheenginefree
ofexcessivegrease,grass,leaves,andaccumulations
ofdirt.Neverwashawarmengineoranyelectrical
partswithwater.
•Besurethatthemachineisinsafeoperating
conditionbykeepingnuts,bolts,andscrewstight.
Checkthefanshaftbearingmountingboltsand
nutsfrequentlytobesurethattheyaretightenedto
specication.
•Iftheenginemustberunningtoperforma
maintenanceadjustment,keephands,feet,clothing,
andotherpartsofthebodyawayfromthefanand
othermovingparts.
•Donotoverspeedtheenginebychangingthe
governorsettings.Tobesureofsafetyandaccuracy,
haveanAuthorizedToroDistributorcheckthe
maximumenginespeedwithatachometer.
