Disassembly
DANGER
Gasoline is flammable. Use caution when storing
or handling it. Wipe up any spilled fuel before
starting the engine.
1. Inspect carbon canister and attached hoses for dam-
age or obvious leaks. A damaged or leaking canister
should be replaced.
2. Remove components as needed using Figures 12
and 13 as guides.
A. If check valve (item 7 in Fig. 13) is removed, note
direction of arrow on valve body for assembly pur-
poses.
B. If filter (item 5 in Fig. 13) is r emoved, note direc-
tion of arrow on filter body for assembly purposes.
Assembly
1. Install all removed components using Figures 12 and
13 as guides.
A. If check valve (item 7 in Fig. 13) was removed,
make sure that arrow on valve body points toward
engine.
B. If filter (item 5 in Fig. 13) was removed, make sure
that arrow on filter body points toward engine.
C. Make sure that evaporative system fuel hoses
are not kinked after installation. Also, secure all
hoses with hose clamps.
