EngineOil
Important:Theengineisshipped WITHOUT OIL
(exceptforresidualoilaftertestingatthefactory).Refer
totheengineownersmanualforadditionalinformation.
Theengineisshippedfromthefactorywithoutoilsoitmust
belledwithapproximately1,005cm
3
(34ounces)ofoil
beforestarting.Checkthelevelofoilbeforetheengineisrst
startedanddailythereafter.
Theengineusesanyhigh-qualityoilhavingtheAmerican
PetroleumInstitute-APl-“serviceclassication"SJ,SL
orequivalent.Oilviscosity-weight-mustbeselected
accordingtoambienttemperature.Figure20illustratesthe
temperature/viscosityrecommendations.

counterclockwise.
4.Wipethedipstickcleanandinsertitintothellerport.

5.Removethedipstickandchecktheleveloftheoil.
6.Ifthelevelisnearorbelowthelowerlimitmarkonthe
dipstick,addonlyenoughoiltoraiseleveltotheupper
limitmark.Rechecklevelofoil.Donotoverll.
7.Installtheoilllercap/dipstickandwipeupanyspilled
oil.
Important:Makesuretheengineoilisattheproper
level.Iftheengineoillevelisnotcorrect,theengine
willcrankbutwillnotstart.
HydraulicSystem
Themachineisshippedfromthefactorywithouthydraulic
uidsoitmustbelledwith32.9liters(8.7U.S.gallons)of
highqualityhydraulicuid.Checkthelevelofhydraulicoil
beforethemachineisrststartedanddailythereafter.The
recommendedhydraulicuidsareasfollows:
