1.Removethebatteryfromthebatterytray:
A.Removethebatteryholddownstraps
securingthebatterytothetray.
B.Removethecarriageboltandnutthat
securethenegativebatterycable(black)to
thenegative(–)terminalanddisconnectthe
negativecable.
C.Removethecarriageboltandnutthat
securethepositivebatterycable(red)tothe
positive(+)batteryterminalanddisconnect
thepositivecable.
2.Cleanthetopofthebattery.
3.Connecta3to4Abatterychargertothebattery
posts.Chargethebatteryatarateof3to4Afor
4to8hours.
4.Whenthebatteryischarged,disconnectthe
chargerfromtheelectricaloutletandbattery
posts.
5.Placethebatteryonthebatterytray.
6.Connectthepositivebatterycable(red)tothe
positive(+)batteryterminalwiththepreviously
removedcarriageboltandnut;slidetherubber
bootoverthepositiveterminaltopreventa
possibleshortfromoccurring.
7.Connectthenegativebatterycable(black)to
thenegative(–)terminalwiththepreviously
removedcarriageboltandnut.
8.Coatthecableterminalsandbatterypostswith
Grafo112Xskin-overgrease(T oroPartNo.
505-47).
9.Connectthebatteryholddownstrapstosecure
thebatterytothetray.
ServicingtheBattery
Thebatterycablesmustbetightontheterminalsto
providegoodelectricalcontact.
