Situation:
Distributor field reports and customer feedback have indicated that early roller drive chain failures
have occurred resulting in customer dissatisfaction. The customer must understand that the drive
chain and sprockets are considered wear items. The customer has direct control over the life of
these components by how they maintain these components.
The Greens Pro 1200 & 1240 Operators Manuals document specific process to follow to ensure full
value of these drive components through daily lubrication and chain tension inspection.
Instructions: Refer to your Operator’s Manual
Before or immediately after daily use, the Pump Drive Cover must be removed to expose the
chain drive assembly.
Inspect. The chain tension must be inspected daily for the correct deflection as specified in
the maintenance section of the Operators Manual. The tension inspection process is
different for the Greens Pro 1200 (Fig. 1) and the Greens Pro 1240 . (Fig. 2)
Lubricate. The Chain requires daily lubrication with a dry type lubricant. Toro recommends
the use of Dri-Slide
®
Multi-Purpose Lubricant. (www.drislide.com)
