CleaningtheSedimentCup
ServiceInterval:Every100hours—Cleanthesedimentcup.
DANGER
Incertainconditions,gasolineisextremely
ammableandhighlyexplosive.Areorexplosion
fromgasolinecanburnyouandothersandcan
damageproperty.
•Fillthefueltankoutdoors,inanopenarea,
whentheengineiscold.Wipeupanygasoline
thatspills.
•Donotllthefueltankcompletelyfull.Add
gasolinetothefueltankuntilthelevelis25mm
(1inch)belowthetopofthetank.Thisempty
spaceinthetankallowsthegasolinetoexpand.
•Neversmokewhenhandlinggasoline,andstay
awayfromanopenameorwheregasoline
fumesmaybeignitedbyaspark.
•Storegasolineinanapprovedcontainerand
keepitoutofthereachofchildren.Neverbuy
morethana30-daysupplyofgasoline.
•Alwaysplacegasolinecontainersontheground
awayfromyourvehiclebeforelling.
•Donotllgasolinecontainersinsideavehicleor
onatruckortrailerbed,becauseinteriorcarpets
orplastictruck-bedlinersmayinsulatethe
containerandslowthelossofanystaticcharge.
•Whenpractical,removegas-poweredequipment
fromthetruckortrailerandfueltheequipment
withthewheelsontheground.Ifthisisnot
possible,thenfuelsuchequipmentonatruck
ortrailerfromaportablecontainer,ratherthan
fromagasolinedispensernozzle.
•Ifagasoline-dispensernozzlemustbeused,
keepthenozzleincontactwiththerimofthe
fueltankorcontaineropeningatalltimesuntil
fuelingiscomplete.
1.MovethefuelvalvetotheOffposition,thenremove
thefuelsedimentcupandO-ring(Figure19).

2.WashthesedimentcupandO-ringinnonammable
solvent,anddrythemthoroughly.
3.PlacetheO-ringinthefuelvalve,andinstallthe
sedimentcup.
Note:Tightenthesedimentcupsecurely.
