SteeringWheel
Thesteeringwheel(Figure9)controlstheangleofthe
smoothingrollers,whichinturnsteerthemachine.The
amountthewheelcanbeturnedislimited,sotheturning
circleofthemachineisrelativelylarge.
Tomoveforwardorback,simplyturnthesteeringwheelto
suitthedirectionforwhichyouareaiming.Asthedirection
changesattheendofeveryrun,youwillneedtopractice
withthemachinetobecomeaccustomedtothesteering.To
moveforwardwhiletraversingtotheright,turnthesteering
wheelcounterclockwise.Tomoveforwardwhiletraversingto
theleft,turnthesteeringwheelclockwise.Thisisreversedif
youwanttomovebackward.
Tilt-steeringPedal
Totiltthesteeringwheeltowardsyou,pressthefootpedal
(Figure9)down,andpullthesteeringtowertowardyouto
themostcomfortableposition,andthenreleasethepedal.
MotionPedals
Thefoot-operatedmotionpedals(Figure9),locatedtoeither
sideofthebaseofthesteeringwheel,controlthemotionof
thedriveroller.Thepedalsareconnectedsothattheycannot
bothbepresseddownatthesametime,youcanpressonly
onepedalatatime.Ifyoupressdownontherightpedalthe
machinewillmovetotheright,andifyoupressdownonthe
leftpedalthemachinewillmovetotheleft.Thefurtheryou
pressapedal,thefasteryourspeedwillbeinthatdirection.
Note:Whenchangingmachinedirection,donotabruptly
changepedaldirection.Doingsowilloverstressthe
tractiondriveline,resultingprematurefailureofdrive-line
components.Actuatethepedalsslowlyandsmoothlyto
avoidpotentialturfscufngdamageaswellasdrive-line
componentdamage.
HitchAssembly
Thehitchassembly(Figure9)isusedtotowthemachineand
tolower/raisethetransportwheels.
Seat-adjustmentLever
Theseatcanbemovedforwardorbacktoadjustforthe
heightoftheoperator.Simplymovetheseat-adjustmentlever
(Figure9)totheleftandslidetheseatforwardorbacktosuit,
thenreleasethelever.
HourMeter
Thehourmeter(Figure9)indicatesthetotalhoursof
machineoperation.
