•Avoidunexpectedstartingoftheengine…
Alwaysturnofftheengine,removetheignitionkeyanddisconnectthe
sparkplugwire(s)beforecleaning,adjusting,orrepair.
•Avoidlacerationsandamputations…
Stayclearofallmovingpartswhenevertheengineisrunning.Treatall
normallymovingpartsasiftheyweremovingwhenevertheengineis
runningorhasthepotentialtostart.
•Avoidburns…
Donottouchtheengine,mufer,orothercomponents,whichmaybehot
duringoperation,whiletheunitisrunningorshortlyafterithasbeen
running.
•Avoidresandexplosions…
Useextremecareinhandlingfuel.Fuelisammableanditsvaporsare
explosive.
–Extinguishallcigarettes,cigars,pipes,andothersourcesofignition.
–Avoidspillingfuelandneversmokewhileworkingwithanytypeoffuel
orlubricant.
–Wipeupanyspilledfueloroilimmediately.
–Neverremovethefuelcaporaddfuelwhentheengineisrunning.
–Alwaysuseapproved,labeledcontainersforstoringortransportingfuel
andlubricants.
–Donotaddordrainfuelinanenclosedspace.
