5.Movethebearingcollarsagainstthebearingsandtightenthebearingcollar
setscrews.
6.Installtheparkingbrakeassemblyifequipped;refertoInstallingtheParking
Brake(page7–31).
Ensurethattheentirewidthofthebrakebandcontactsthebrakehubwhen
thebrakeisengaged.Loosenandadjustthedriverollerbearingsand
bearingcollarstoalignthebrakebandtothebrakehubifnecessary.
7.Ensurethatthetaperedsurfacesofthedriverollersprocketandtaperlock
bushingareclean(nooil,grease,dirt,rust,etc.).
8.Positionthesprocketondriveendrollershaftwiththesmallendoftheinner
tapertowardtherollerandthedrivechainonthesprocket.
9.Installthekey(item11inFigure67)ontheshaft.Useastraightblade
screwdriverinthetaperlockbushingslottospreadthetaperlockbushing
slightlyifnecessaryandslidethebushingontotherollershaftandkeywith
thesmallendoftheoutertapertowardtheroller.Rotatethedriverolleras
necessarytoalignthemountingholesinbushingwiththemountingholes
insprocket.
10.Oilthethreadsandendofthesetscrewsandinstallthesetscrewsloosely
intothebushinginstallationholes(Figure70).Thebushinginstallationholes
arethreadedonthesprocketside.

Note:Thesmalldrivesprocketisdesignedtomoveslightlyalongthe
transmissionoutputshaft.Keepthisfeatureinmindifnecessarywhen
installingandaligningthedrivechainanddriverollersprocket.
11.Useastraightedgeacrossthedrivechainsidetheplates,slidethesprocket
andtaperlockbushingontherollershaftsothatthedrivechainand
straightedgearealignedtowithin0.57mm(0.02inch).
