RemovingtheParkingBrake(continued)
CAUTION
Useasuitableliftingdevicetosafelyraiseandsupportthemachine
togetaccesstothecomponentsunderthechassis.
1.Ensurethattheparkingbrakeisdisengaged.
2.Disconnectthebrakereturnspringfromthechassis.
3.Removethelocknut,atwasher,andspacerfromthebrakerod.
4.Removethehairpincotterfromthebrakerod,andremovethebrakerodfrom
thebrakepivotarm.
5.Removethesocket-headscrew,lockwasher,atwasher,andhardened
washerthatsecurethebrakehubtothedriverollershaft,andremovethe
brakehubfromtheshaft.
Note:GreensPro1260machinesmayuseshimsbehindthebrakehub.
Retrievetheshimsifused.
6.Removethe2bolts,4atwashers,and2locknutsthatsecurethebrake
bandtothechassis,andremovethebrakebandandshims(ifany)from
thechassis.
7.Ifnecessary,removethebrakepivotarm(item26)asfollows:
A.Removethebolt,2atwashers,pivotbushing,andlocknutthatsecure
thebrakepivotarmtothechassis.
B.Removethebolt,2atwashers,locknut,andsleevethatsecurethe
brakecabletothebrakepivotarm,anddisconnectthebrakecablefrom
thebrakepivotarm.
C.Removethebrakepivotarmfromthemachine.
8.Repairorreplacetheparkingbrakecomponentsasnecessary.
InstallingtheParkingBrake
RefertoFigure74forthisprocedure.
1.Ifpreviouslyremoved,installthebrakepivotarm(item26).
A.Connectthebrakecabletothebrakepivotarmwiththebolt,2at
washers,sleeve,andlocknut.
B.Insertthepivotbushinginthebrakepivotarmandsecurethebrakepivot
armtothechassiswiththebolt,2atwashers,andlocknut.
Note:GreensPro1260machinesmayuseshimsbehindthebrakehub.If
shimswereremovedduringdisassembly,Fitthesamenumberofshimson
therollershaftbeforeinstallingthebrakehub.
2.Applyathincoatofanti-seizelubricanttothebrakeendofthedriveroller
shaft.Installthebrakehubwiththehardenedwasher,atwasher,lock
washer,andsocket-headscrew.Tightenthescrewngertightandwipe
awayanyexcesslubricant.
3.Placeshimsbetweenthebrakebandandchassisuntiladding1moreshim
wouldcausethebandliningtocontactthebrakehub(Figure75).
