2.Alwaysweartheeyeprotectionwhenyouperforminghydraulicsystemtests.
3.Cleanthemachinefullybeforeyoudisconnectordisassemblethehydraulic
components.
Note:Cleanlinessisrequiredwheneveryouworkonthehydraulic
equipment.Contaminationcausestoomuchwearonhydrauliccomponents.
4.Topreventhydraulicsystemcontamination,putmetalcapsorplugsonany
hydrauliclinesleftopenorexposedduringtestingorremovalofcomponents.
5.Theenginemustbeingoodoperatingcondition.Useanon-contact
tachometer(phototach)toverifyandmonitorengineRPMwhenperforminga
hydraulictest.Enginespeedcanaffecttheaccuracyofthetestreadings.
Usetheinformationbelowwhenperforminghydraulicsystemtests.Ifengine
RPMisaboveorbelowthespeciedspeedduringatest,youwillneedto
adjusttheexpectedhydraulicperformanceparameters(aprox.3%per100
enginerpmatfullthrottle).
HydrauliccomponentoutputvolumerelatesdirectlytoengineRPM.For
every100enginerpmthefollowingcomponentoutputvolumeswillchange
bythevolumelisted.
•TractionPump:100engineRPM=1liter(34ounces)ofhydraulicuid
displacedperminute
•ChargePump:100engineRPM=213milliliters(7.2ounces)ofhydraulic
uiddisplacedperminute
6.Whenyouuseahydraulictester(pressureandow),ensurethattheinletand
outlethosesareproperlyconnectedandnotreversedtopreventdamaging
thehydraulictesterorcomponents.
7.Whenyouuseahydraulictester(pressureandow),openthetesterload
valvefullybeforeyoustarttheenginetoreducethepossibilityofdamaging
thecomponents.
8.Installthehydraulicttingsbyhandandensurethattheyarenot
cross-threadedbeforeyoutightenthemwithawrench.
9.Positionanytesthosesawayfrompartsthatmaymoveduringthetest
procedure.
10.Afteryouconnectthetestequipment,checkthehydraulicuidlevelinthe
hydraulictankandensurethattheuidleveliscorrect.
11.Performallthehydraulictestswiththehydraulicuidatnormaloperating
temperature.
12.Recordtheresultsofallhydraulictestsperformed.
13.Afterahydraulictestprocedurehasbeencompleted,checkthehydraulic
uidlevelinthehydraulictankbeforereturningthemachinetoservice.
