componentdamage.
Whenoperatingthemachineonhills,ensurethatthedrive
rollerisonthedownhillsideforadequatetraction.Failureto
dosomayresultinturfdamage.
HitchAssembly
Thehitchassembly(Figure9)isusedtotowthemachineand
tolower/raisethetransportwheels.
Seat-AdjustmentLever
Theseatcanbemovedforwardorbacktoadjustforthe
heightoftheoperator.Simplymovetheseat-adjustmentlever
(Figure9)totheleftandslidetheseatforwardorbacktosuit,
thenreleasethelever.
HourMeter
Thehourmeter(Figure9)indicatesthetotalhoursof
machineoperation.
EngineControls
On/OffSwitch
TheOn/Offswitch(Figure12)allowstheoperatorofthe
machinetostartandstoptheengine.Thisswitchislocated
onthefrontoftheengine.RotatetheOn/Offswitchtothe
ONpositiontostartandruntheengine.RotatetheOn/Off
switchtotheOFFpositiontostoptheengine.

ChokeLever
Thechokelever(Figure13)isrequiredwhenstartingacold
engine.Beforepullingtherecoil-starthandle,movethechoke
levertotheCLOSEDposition.Oncetheengineisrunning,
movethechokelevertotheOPENposition.Donotuse
thechokeiftheengineisalreadywarmeduporiftheair
temperatureishigh.

Fuel-ShutoffValve
Thefuel-shutoffvalve(Figure13)islocatedunderneaththe
chokelever.Moveittotheopenpositionbeforeattempting
tostarttheengine.Onceyouhavenishedusingthemachine
andyouhaveturnedtheengineoff,movethefuel-shutoff
valvetotheCLOSEDposition.
Recoil-StartHandle
Tostarttheengine,pulltherecoil-starthandle(Figure10)
quicklytoturntheengineover.Thecontrolsontheengine
describedabovemustallbesetcorrectlyfortheengineto
start.
Oil-LevelSwitch
Theoil-levelswitchislocatedinsidetheengine;itprevents
theenginefromrunningiftheoillevelfallsbelowthesafe
operatinglimit.
