FlushingtheHydraulicSystem
Flushthehydraulicsystemwheneverthesystemiscontaminated(forexample,
theuidappearsmilkyorblack,orcontainsmetalparticles).
IMPORTANT
Ifacomponentfailureoccurs;refertoHydraulicSystemComponents
(page5–7)foradditionalinformation.
1.Parkthemachineonaclean,levelsurfacewiththetransportwheelsinthe
raisedandlockedposition,shutofftheengine,andengagetheparkingbrake.
2.ReadandadheretotheinformationprovidedinGeneralPrecautionsfor
RemovingandInstallingtheHydraulicSystemComponents(page5–35).
CAUTION
Flushthehydraulicsystemwiththehydraulicuidaswarmas
possible,buttopreventadditionalsystemdamage,DoNotoperatea
machinewithcontaminatedhydraulicuidtowarmtheuidbefore
draining.
IMPORTANT
Followalllocalcodesandregulationswhenrecyclingordisposing
thehydraulicuidandlters.
3.Drainthehydraulicuidfromthehydraulictank.Removethetankcapand
cleanthetank.Considerremovingandcleaningthetankifnecessary;refer
toHydraulicT anks(page5–43).
4.Drainthehydraulicsystemhosesandothercomponentsfromlowpointsin
thesystem.
5.Removeandreplacethehydraulicuidlter;refertotheOperator’sManual.
6.Connectallthehydraulichosesandcomponentsthatweredisconnected
whiledrainingthesystem;refertoInstallingtheHydraulicHosesandTubes
(page5–12).
IMPORTANT
Usingotherhydraulicuidscoulddamagethehydraulicsystem.
UsethehydraulicuidsthatarespeciedintheOperator’sManual.
7.Fillthehydraulictankwiththecorrectquantityofnewhydraulicuid;referto
theOwner’sManual.
8.Primethehydraulicpump;refertoPrimingtheHydraulicPump(page5–41).
9.Chargethehydraulicsystem;refertoChargingtheHydraulicSystem(page
5–42).
