5.Checkandllthehydraulictankwiththecorrectquantityofnewhydraulic
uid;refertotheOperator’sManual.
6.Starttheengineandrunitatlow-idlespeed.Checkforandcorrectany
hydraulicleaksbeforeproceeding.
CAUTION
Useextremecautionwhenperformingthistest.Thedriverollerwill
berotatingduringthetest.
IMPORTANT
Whileengagingthetractioncircuit,monitortheindicatoronthehigh
owhydrauliclter.Iftheindicatorshowsred,eitherreducethe
pressureonthemotioncontrolpedalorreducetheenginespeedto
decreasethehydraulicowthroughthelter.
7.Withtheenginerunningatlow-idlespeed,slowlypresstheLEFTmotion
controlpedaltotheforwarddirectiontoallowowthroughthetractioncircuit
andhigh-owlter.Keepthetractioncircuitengagedinforwardfor5minutes
whilegraduallyincreasingbothforwardpressureonthemotioncontrolpedal
andenginespeed.Monitorthelterindicatortoensurethatthegreencolor
isshowingduringoperation.
Note:Withtheenginerunningathigh-idlespeedandleftmotioncontrol
pedalpressedtotheforwarddirection,periodicallyengageparkingbraketo
increasepressureinthetractioncircuit.
IMPORTANT
Ifyouareusingalterthatisnotbidirectional,donotpressthe
RIGHTmotioncontrolpedal.Iftheowisreversedwhenusinga
lterthatisnotbidirectional,unwantedmaterialfromthelterwill
againenterthetractioncircuit.
8.Withabidirectionalhydrauliclterinstalledandtheenginerunningat
high-idlespeed,alternatelypresstheleftmotioncontrolpedalandtheright
motioncontrolpedal.Whilemonitoringthelterindicator,continuethis
processfor5moreminutes.
9.Shutofftheengine.
10.Removethetemporaryhydrauliclterfromthemachineandinstallany
disconnectedhydraulichoses;refertoInstallingtheHydraulicHosesand
Tubes(page5–12).
11.Checkthehydraulicuidlevelinthehydraulictankandadjustasnecessary;
refertotheOperator’sManual.
12.Operatethemachineandcheckforleaksbeforereturningthemachineto
service.
