GeneralSafety
Thisproductiscapableofcausingpersonalinjury.
Alwaysfollowallsafetyinstructionstoavoidserious
personalinjury.
Usingthisproductforpurposesotherthanitsintended
usecouldprovedangeroustoyouandbystanders.
•Readandunderstandthecontentsofthis
Operator’sManualbeforestartingtheengine.
•Donotputyourhandsorfeetnearmoving
componentsofthemachine.
•Donotoperatethemachinewithoutallguards
andothersafetyprotectivedevicesinplaceand
workingonthemachine.
•Keepbystandersandpetsasafedistanceaway
fromthemachine.
•Keepchildrenoutoftheoperatingarea.Never
allowchildrentooperatethemachine.
•Stopthemachineandshutofftheenginebefore
servicing,fueling,oruncloggingthemachine.
Improperlyusingormaintainingthismachinecan
resultininjury.T oreducethepotentialforinjury,
complywiththesesafetyinstructionsandalwayspay
attentiontothesafety-alertsymbol,whichmeans
Caution,Warning,orDanger—personalsafety
instruction.Failuretocomplywiththeseinstructions
mayresultinpersonalinjuryordeath.

neededthroughoutthisOperator’sManual.
Preparation
•Wearappropriateclothing,includingeye
protection;slip-resistant,substantialfootwear;
longpants;andhearingprotection.Tiebacklong
hairanddonotwearjewelry.
•Thoroughlyinspecttheareawhereyouwilluse
themachine,andremoveallobjectswhichmaybe
damagedbythemachineorwhichmaydamage
themachine.
•Replacewornordamagedsilencers.
•Evaluatetheterraintodeterminewhataccessories
andattachmentsareneededtoproperlyand
safelyperformthejob.Useonlyaccessoriesand
attachmentsapprovedbythemanufacturer.
•Checkthatallsafetyshieldsareattachedand
functioningproperly.Donotoperateunlessthey
arefunctioningproperly.
Operation
•Donotoperatetheengineinaconnedspace
wheredangerouscarbonmonoxideandother
exhaustgassescancollect.
•Operatethemachineonlyindaylightoringood
articiallight.
•Stayalertforholesintheterrainandotherhidden
hazards.
•Avoidoperatingthemachineinwetgrass,where
feasible.
•Themainreasonsforlossofcontrolare:
–Insufcientrollergrip;
–Beingdriventoofast;
–Inadequatebraking;
–Thetypeofmachineisunsuitableforthetask;
–Lackofawarenessoftheeffectofground
conditions,especiallyslopes
•Watchoutfortrafcwhencrossingornear
roadways.
•Nevercarrypassengersandkeeppetsand
bystandersaway.
•Shutoffthefuelwhilestoringortransportingthe
machine.Donotstorefuelnearamesordrain
indoors.
•Parkthemachineonlevelground.Chockthe
wheelsorengagetheparkingbrakeasrequired.
Neverallowuntrainedpersonneltoservicethe
machine.
•Usejackstandstosupportcomponentswhen
required.
•Carefullyreleasepressurefromcomponentswith
storedenergy.
•Donotchangetheenginegovernorsettingsor
overspeedtheengine.Operatingtheengine
atexcessivespeedmayincreasethehazardof
personalinjury.
•Beforeleavingtheoperator'sposition:
–Stopthemachineonlevelground.
–Engagetheparkingbrakeorchockthetrailer
wheelsasrequired.
–Turntheenginespeedtoidle,andallowitto
runfor10to20seconds.
–Shutofftheengine.
•Shutofftheengine:
–Beforefueling;
