Replaceallwornordamagednuts,bolts,and
screws.
Allowtheenginetocoolbeforestoringthemachine
inanyenclosure,anddonotstoreitnearaame.
Toreducetheriskofre,keeptheengine,silencer,
andfuel-storageareafreeofgrass,leaves,or
excessivegrease.
Keepallpartsingoodworkingconditionandall
hardwareandhydraulicttingstightened.Replace
allwornordamagedpartsanddecals.
Ifthefueltankhastobedrained,dothisoutdoors.
Becarefulwhileadjustingthemachinetoprevent
entrapmentofthengersbetweenmovingand
xedpartsofthemachine.
Shutofftheengine,waitforallmovementto
stop,anddisconnectthespark-plugwirebefore
adjusting,cleaning,orrepairing.
Cleangrassanddebrisfromrollers,brake,
mufers,andenginetohelppreventres.Clean
upoilorfuelspills.
Keepyourhandsandfeetawayfrommoving
parts.Ifpossible,donotmakeadjustmentswith
theenginerunning.
Checkallfuellinesfortightnessandwearona
regularbasis.Tightenorrepairthemasneeded.
Ifyoumustruntheenginetoperforma
maintenanceadjustment,keepyourhands,feet,
clothing,andanypartsofthebodyawayfromthe
rollers,attachments,andanymovingparts.Keep
bystandersaway.
Toensuresafetyandaccuracy,haveanAuthorized
ToroDistributorcheckthemaximumenginespeed
withatachometer.Themaximum-governed
enginespeedshouldbe3,600rpm.

chains,cable,orropes.Bothfrontandrearstraps
shouldbedirecteddownandoutwardfromthe
machine.

Safetydecalsandinstructionsareeasilyvisibletotheoperatorandarelocatednearanyarea
ofpotentialdanger.Replaceanydecalthatisdamagedormissing.
