Fillthefueltankoutdoors,inanopenarea,when
theengineiscold.Wipeupanyfuelthatspills.
Donotllthefueltankcompletelyfull.Addfuel
tothefueltankuntilthelevelis25mm(1inch)
belowthetopofthetank.Thisemptyspacein
thetankallowsthefueltoexpand.
Neversmokewhenhandlingfuel,andstayaway
fromanopenameorwherefuelfumesmaybe
ignitedbyaspark.
Storefuelinanapprovedcontainerandkeepit
outofthereachofchildren.Donotbuymore
thana30-daysupplyoffuel.
Alwaysplacefuelcontainersonthegroundaway
fromyourvehiclebeforelling.
Donotllfuelcontainersinsideavehicleoron
atruckortrailerbed,becauseinteriorcarpets
orplastictruck-bedlinersmayinsulatethe
containerandslowthelossofanystaticcharge.
Whenpractical,removefuel-poweredequipment
fromthetruckortrailerandfueltheequipment
withthewheelsontheground.Ifthisisnot
possible,thenfuelsuchequipmentonatruck
ortrailerfromaportablecontainer,ratherthan
fromafueldispensernozzle.
Ifyoumustuseafuel-dispensernozzle,keepthe
nozzleincontactwiththerimofthefueltank
orcontaineropeningatalltimesuntilfuelingis
complete.
Fuel-TankCapacity:3.6L(0.95USgallons)
1.Cleanaroundthefuel-tankcapandremovethe
capfromthetank(Figure23).Usingunleaded(87
pumpoctaneminimum)gasoline,llthefueltankto
approximately25mm(1inch)belowthetopofthe
tanktoallowforfuelexpansion.
Important:Donotoverllthetank.Adding
fuelinexcessoftheprescribedlevelwillresult
inenginefailureduetosaturationofthevapor
recoverysystem,resultinginengineperformance
failure.Thisisnotawarrantablefailureandwill
requirereplacementofthefuel-tankcap.
Important:Neverusemethanol,gasoline
containingmethanol,gasoholcontainingmore
than10%ethanol,gasolineadditives,premium
gasoline,orwhitegasbecausethefuelsystem
couldbedamaged.Donotmixoilwithgasoline.

Note:Makesurethatthespark-plugwireisconnectedto
thesparkplug.
1.Ensurethattheparkingbrakeisengagedandthatthe
motionpedalsareintheNEUTRALposition.
2.TurntheOn/OffswitchtotheONposition.
3.Turnthefuel-shutoffvalvetotheOPENposition.
4.MovethechokelevertotheONpositionwhenstarting
acoldengine.
Note:Thechokemaynotberequiredwhenstarting
awarmengine.
5.MovethethrottlecontroltotheFASTposition.
6.Standattherearofthemachine,pulltherecoil-start
handleoutuntilpositiveengagementresults;thenpull
itvigorouslytostarttheengine.
