7.Whentheenginehasstarted,pushthechokeleverto
theOFFposition.
8.MovethethrottlelevertotheFASTposition,forbest
rollerperformance.
ShuttingOfftheEngine
1.Afteroperatingthemachine,returnthemotionpedals
totheNEUTRALpositionandengagetheparkingbrake.
2.Turntheenginespeedtoidle,andallowittorunfor10
to20seconds.
3.TurntheOn/OffswitchtotheOFFposition.
4.Turnthefuel-shutoffvalvetotheCLOSEDposition.
CheckingtheSafety-Interlock
System
CAUTION
Ifthesafety-interlockswitchesaredisconnectedor
damaged,themachinecouldoperateunexpectedly,
causingpersonalinjury.
Donottamperwiththeinterlockswitches.
Checktheoperationoftheinterlockswitches
daily,andreplaceanydamagedswitchesbefore
operatingthemachine.
Important:Ifthesafety-interlocksystemdoesnot
operateasdescribedbelow,haveanAuthorizedToro
Distributorrepairitimmediately.
1.Engagetheparkingbrake,ensurethatthemotion
pedalsareintheNEUTRALposition,andstartthe
engine.
2.Sitontheseat.
3.Withtheparkingbrakeengaged,gentlypressa
motionpedaldown;theengineshouldshutoffafter
approximately1second.
4.Withtheenginerunningandthebrakedisengaged,
standupandverifythattheengineshutsoffafter1
second.
Note:Thesafety-interlocksystemisalsodesignedtoshut
offtheengineiftheoperatorrisesofftheseatwhilethe
machineismoving.
UsingtheHitchLock
ConnectingtheMachinetotheTow
Vehicle
Pushdownonthehitch-lockleverwhileinsertingthehitch
assemblyontothetow-vehiclehitch.Releasetheleverwhen
thehitchandthehitchassemblyarealigned(Figure24).
Important:EnsurethattheleverreturnstotheUp
positionandthatthehitchandthehitchassemblyare
engaged.

Pushdownonthehitch-lockleverwhileremovingthehitch
assemblyfromthetow-vehiclehitch(Figure24).Releasethe
latchwhenthehitchandthehitchassemblyaredisengaged.
