Checkingthe
Safety-InterlockSystem
CAUTION
Ifthesafety-interlockswitchesare
disconnectedordamaged,themachinecould
operateunexpectedly,causingpersonal
injury.
Donottamperwiththeinterlockswitches.
Checktheoperationoftheinterlock
switchesdaily,andreplaceanydamaged
switchesbeforeoperatingthemachine.
Important:Ifthesafety-interlocksystemdoesnot
operateasdescribedbelow,haveanauthorized
Torodistributorrepairitimmediately.
1.Ifonthetransportwheels,lowerthemachine
ontotherollers;refertoLowertheMachineonto
theRollers(page18).
2.Engagetheparkingbrake,ensurethatthe
motionpedalsareintheNEUTRALposition,and
starttheengine.
3.Sitontheseat.
4.Withtheparkingbrakeengaged,gentlypressa
motionpedaldown;theengineshouldshutoff
afterapproximately1second.
5.Withtheenginerunningandthebrake
disengaged,standupandverifythattheengine
shutsoffafter1second.
Note:Thesafety-interlocksystemisalsodesigned
toshutofftheengineiftheoperatorrisesofftheseat
whilethemachineismoving.
BrakeMaintenance
CheckingtheParkingBrake
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
1.Driveortransportthemachinetoalevelsurface.
2.Ifyoutransportthemachine,disconnectitfrom
thetowvehicleandlowerthemachineonto
therollers;refertoDisconnectingtheMachine
fromtheTowVehicle(page18)andLowerthe
MachineontotheRollers(page18).
3.Engagetheparkingbrake.
4.Starttheengineandsettheenginespeedto
IDLE.
5.Sitontheoperator’sseat.
6.Pressoneofthemotionpedals.
Important:Themachineshouldnotmove.
Ifitmoves,adjusttheparkingbrake;referto
AdjustingtheParkingBrake(page29).
Note:Theengineshutsoffin1secondwhen
youpressthemotionpedalwiththeparking
brakeengaged.
AdjustingtheParking
Brake
1.Ensurethattheengineisshutoff.
2.Releasetheparkingbrake.
3.Adjusttheparkingbrakeasfollows:
Toincreasethebrakeforce,rotatethebrake
locknutclockwise(Figure35).
Todecreasethebrakeforce,rotatethebrake
locknutcounterclockwise(Figure35).
