GeneralPrecautionsforRemovingandInstallingtheHydraulic
SystemComponents
BeforeRepairingorReplacingtheComponents
CAUTION
Beforedisconnectingorperforminganyworkonthehydraulic
system,shutofftheengineandpressthemotioncontrolpedals
toreleasethepressureinthesystemandavoidinjuryfromthe
pressurizedhydraulicuid.
1.Beforeremovinganypartsfromthehydraulicsystem,parkthemachineona
levelsurface,shutofftheengine,engagetheparkingbrakeifequippedor
removethesparkplugwirefromthesparkplug.
2.Cleanthemachinebeforeyoudisconnect,remove,ordisassemblethe
hydrauliccomponents.
Note:Cleanlinessisnecessarywheneveryouworkonthehydraulic
equipment.Ensurethatyoucleanthehydrauliccomponents,hoses,
connections,andttings.
3.Labelallthedisconnectedhydrauliclinesandhosesforproperinstallation
afterrepairsarecompleted.
4.Recordtheorientationofthehydraulicttings(especiallyelbowttings)on
thehydrauliccomponentsbeforeremoval.
Note:Marktheparts,ifnecessarybeforeremovalandensurethattheyare
alignedproperlywheninstallingthehydraulicttings,hoses,andtubes.
5.Thehydraulicuidmaybehot.Becarefulwhenyouloosenandremove
thehydraulicsystemcomponents.
6.Installcleancapsorplugsonthehydrauliclines,hydraulicttings,and
componentsthatareleftopenorexposedtopreventhydraulicsystem
contamination.Captheopeningassoonasthelineorportisexposed.
AfterRepairingorReplacingtheComponents
IMPORTANT
Drainandllthehydraulictankandchangetheoillterifthe
componentfailureissevereorthesystemiscontaminated;referto
FlushingtheHydraulicSystem(page5–38).
1.Checkthehydraulicuidlevelinthehydraulictankandaddcorrectquantity
ofuidifnecessary.UsehydraulicuidsthatarespeciedintheGreensPro
Operator'sManual.
2.Whendisposingofhazardouswasteproducts(hydraulicuid),takethem
toanauthorizeddisposalsite.Wasteproductsmustnotbeallowedto
contaminatesurfacewater,drains,orsewersystems.
3.OnGreensPro1260machines,Ifacomponentfailureoccurs,lteringthe
tractioncircuitisnecessary;refertoFilteringtheClosed-LoopTractionCircuit
(GreensPro1260)(page5–39)
