Procedure
Beforeoperatingthemachineforthersttime,the
electricbrakesmustbesynchronizedtothetowvehicle’s
brakes(sothattheyoperateatthesametime).
Themachineandthetowvehiclewillseldomhavethe
correctamperageowtothebrakemagnetstoprovide
comfortable,safebraking.Changingtheloadweight,as
wellasunevenalternatorandbatteryoutput,canresult
inunstablecurrentowtothebrakemagnets.
TheLoadControlcompensatesfortrailerloadvariations
bylimitingthemaximumtorqueoutputofthebrakesby
addingdroppingresistanceintheelectricalcontrolline.
Whentowingatrailerloadedtobrakeratedcapacity,the
LoadControlmustbesetatmaximumbraking.When
pullinganemptyorpartiallyloadedtrailer,theLoad
Controlmustbesetbetweenmaximumandminimum
brakingatapositionjustbeforethepointatwhich
trailertireskiddingoccurswhenactuatingthehand
controlfullyon.FailuretoinstallandusetheElectric
LoadControlwillresultinexcessivebraketorquewhen
stoppingatrailerloadedtolessthanbrakecapacity.
