1.PlacetheRemotefacedownandremovethefour
screwsholdingthebatterycoverinplace.Removethe
batterycover.
Note:Thefourscrewsholdingthebatterycover
inplaceare‘captive’tothecover—thecoverholes
arethreaded.Althoughtheyarenoteasilyremoved
fromthecoveritself,beawarethatthescrewsifover
loosenedwhileopeningthebatterycompartmentcan
becompletelyremovedincreasingtheriskofloss.
2.Removethedischargedbatteriesandproperlydispose
inaccordancewithlocalregulations.

properpolarity.(Ifthebatteriesareimproperly
installed,theunitwillnotbedamaged,butitwillfail

theyarermlyseatedintheunit.
4.Replacethebatterycover.Securethecoverwiththe
fourscrews.Makesuretheyaretightenedenoughto
compresstheseal,butbecarefulnottoovertighten.
HandheldRemoteCare
ThoughtheHandheldRemoteisrugged,careshouldbe
takennottodroptheunitontohardsurfaces.Tocleanthe
Remote,useasoftclothmoistenedwithwateroramild
cleaningsolutiontowipeitpayingparticularattentionto
avoidscratchingtheLCD(LiquidCrystalDisplay)screen.
Operation
Base↔RemoteCommunication
CommunicationbetweentheBaseandHandheldRemote
unitsmustbeestablishedbeforethesystemcanbeused.This
linkprocessiscalledAssociationanditisperformedwhile
theHandheldRemoteisinAssociateMode.
AssociationbetweenRemoteandBaseUnitisestablishedat
thefactory;however,theremaybeinstancesintheeldwhen
aHandheldRemoteandaBaseUnitmustbereassociated.
Whennecessary,Associationcanbeperformedasdescribed
below .
AssociateMode(Remote
BaseUnitAssociation)
1.PresstheE-Stopbuttontoremovepowerfromthe
baseunitandmakesurethehandheldisOFF .
2.Standnearthebaseunitinclearlineofsight.
3.Simultaneouslypressandcontinuetoholdthe
ON/OFF
andtheALLSTOPbuttons.
TheHandheldRemotegoesthroughitsinitialization
screensandsettlesonASSOCPENDING.
4.Continuetoholdbothbuttonsandthenquickly
releasethemwhenASSOCACTIVEisdisplayed
(approximatelyfour(4)seconds).
Note:Ifthebuttonsarepressedtolong,WAITING
FORBASEwillbedisplayed.
5.Releasethetwobuttons.ThedisplayswillshowCLR
CHANSCAN.TheHandheldRemotescansall
availablechannelsandchoosesthechannelwiththe
leasttrafc.
6.PressandholdtheSTOREbutton
.The
HandheldwilldisplayPOWUPBUNIT.Continueto
holdtheSTOREbutton.
7.PulloutontheE-StopbuttontopoweruptheBase
Unit.TheHandheldwillAssociate(link)withtheBase
Unit.Uponsuccess,thedisplaywillshowASSOC
SUCCESS.
8.ReleasetheSTOREbutton.
Note:TheHandheldRemoteandBaseUnitlinkcanbe
viewedbyholdingdowntheALLSTOP .
andOPTION
STOPbuttonsatthesametime.Thedisplaywillcycle
