Alwaystestnewmaterialsbyspreadingthemin
anopenareaawayfrompeople.
4.Starttheengineofthetractionunitandturnon
thetractionunithydraulics.
5.OntheSHmodelturnontheon/offpendant
switchtostartspreading.OntheEHmodelturn
ontheoptionthentheconveyorbeltwiththe
handheldremote.
6.OntheSHmodelturnofftheon/offpendant
switchtostopspreading—theoptionattachment
continuestooperate.OntheEHmodelturnoff
theconveyorbeltandthentheattachment.
7.ForEHmodelsyoucanusetheALLSTART
functioninplaceoftheOPTIONSTARTandBELT
STARTfunctionsasasingleoperationstart
feature.Theattachmentwillstartrst,followed
bythebelt.
8.Whenthemachineisempty,turnoffthe
hydraulicsbeforetransportingthemachine.
Note:Whendrivingoveruneventerrain,raise
themachinetothemaximumsafetraveling
range.Thisprovidesmoregroundclearancefor
theoptionalattachment.
WARNING
Theoptionalattachmentmaybeable
throwmaterialathighspeedsupto12m
(40ft),andinjurebystanders.
Watchforpeopleandotherobjectswhile
spreading.
Important:Whiletravelingbutnot
spreading,raisethemachinetothe
maximumsafetravelingdistance,andturn
offtheoptionattachments.
AfterOperation
AfterOperationSafety
Parkthemachineonarm,levelsurface;engage
theparkingbrake;shutofftheengine;remove
thekey;andwaitforallmovementtostopbefore
leavingthemachine.
Avoidsoftgroundbecausethejacklegcouldsink
andcausethemachinetotipover.
Donotdisconnectthemachinefromthetow
vehicleonhills,orwithoutengagingthejackand
rear-jackleg.
Whendisconnectingthemachine,alwayschock
thewheelstopreventmovement.
Keepallpartsofthemachineingoodworking
conditionandallhardwaretightened.
Replaceallwornordamageddecals.
DisconnectingtheMachine
fromtheTractionUnit
1.Parkthemachineondry,levelground;engage
theparkingbrakeonthetractionunit;shutoff
theengineandremovethekey.
2.Chockfrontandbackofthetiresofthemachine.
3.Relievethepressurefromthehydraulicsystem.
4.Disconnectthe2hydraulichosesandthe7-pin
coiledpowercablefromthetractionunit;refer
toFigure21inConnectingtheMachinetothe
TractionUnit(page21).
Coilandstorethehosesandcableonthefront
ofthemachine.
5.OnSHmodels,disconnectandremovethe
controlpendantfordrystorage.OnEHmodels,
storethehandheldremoteinadrysafeplace.
EnsurethatyouhavepressedtheE-STOPbutton
in.
6.Rotatetherear-jacklegtotheverticalposition;
refertoSupportingtheMachinewiththe
Rear-JackLeg(page25).
Important:Alwaysusetherearjackleg
whendisconnectingthemachinefroma
tractionunit.
7.Assemblethejackasfollows:
Iftheweightofthetongueisforcedupinto
thehitchofthetowvehicle(negativetongue
weight),assemblethejacktotherearjack
leg;refertoAssemblingtheJacktothe
Rear-JackLeg(page25).
Iftheweightofthetongueisforceddown
ontothehitchofthetowvehicle(positive
tongueweight),rotatethejackverticalatthe
hitchtube;refertoSupportingtheFrontof
theMachinewiththeJack(page27).
8.Liftthemachinewiththejackuntilthemachine
isfullysupportedwiththejack,andremovethe
hitchpin.
9.Ensurethatthereisnofurtherconnection
betweenthemachineandthetractionunit.Start
thetractionunitanddriveitunitawayfromthe
machine.
