Procedure
Beforeoperatingthemachineforthersttime,the
electricbrakesmustbesynchronizedtothetow
vehiclebrakessothattheyoperateatthesametime.
Themachineandthetowvehiclewillseldomhavethe
correctamperageowtothebrakemagnetstoprovide
comfortable,safebraking.Changingtheloadweight,
aswellasunevenalternatorandbatteryoutput,can
resultinunstablecurrentowtothebrakemagnets.
Thebrakecontrolcompensatesfortrailerload
variationsbylimitingthemaximumtorqueoutput
ofthebrakesbyaddingdroppingresistanceinthe
electricalcontrolline.Whentowingatrailerloaded
tobrakeratedcapacity,thebrakecontrolmustbe
setatmaximumbraking.Whenpullinganemptyor
partiallyloadedtrailer,thebrakecontrolmustbeset
betweenmaximumandminimumbrakingjustbefore
thepointwheretireskiddingoccurswhenactuating
thehandcontrolfullyon.Failuretoinstallanduse
theelectricbrakecontrolwillresultinexcessivebrake
torquewhenstoppingatrailerloadedtolessthan
brakecapacity.

1.Removetherubberbandssecuringtheremote
halvestogether,andremovethebackcover.
2.Plugeachbatteryintoaterminalcradle
observingproperpolarity.(Ifthebatteries
areimproperlyinstalled,theunitwillnotbe
damaged,butitwillfailtooperate.)Thecradle
isembossedwithpolaritymarkingsforeach
terminal(Figure12).

remotebracket,slidethehalvestogetherto
securetheremote,andtightentheboltinthe
magnet(Figure13).
