8.Connectthecoiled,powercabletothesocket
onthemachineandthetowvehicle(Figure11).
9.Checkthehydraulicoillevelinthetowvehicles
tankandaddmoretollit,ifnecessary;referto
thetowvehicleowner’smanual.
10.Testthehydraulicsbeforeoperatingthemachine
forthersttime.
11.Settheelectricbrake(ifsoequipped)asfollows:
•Beforeoperatingthemachineforthe
rsttime,theelectricbrakesmustbe
synchronizedtothetowvehicle’sbrakes(so
thattheyoperateatthesametime).
•Themachineandthetowvehiclewillseldom
havethecorrectamperageowtothe
brakemagnetstoprovidecomfortable,safe
braking.Changingtheloadweight,aswell
asunevenalternatorandbatteryoutput,can
resultinunstablecurrentowtothebrake
magnets.
•Theloadcontrolcompensatesfortrailerload
variationsbylimitingthemaximumtorque
outputofthebrakesbyaddingdropping
resistanceintheelectricalcontrolline.
Whentowingatrailerloadedtobrakerated
capacity,thebrakecontrolmustbesetat
maximumbraking.Whenpullinganemptyor
partiallyloadedtrailer,thebrakecontrolmust
besetbetweenmaximumandminimum
brakingatapositionjustbeforethepoint
atwhichtrailertireskiddingoccurswhen
actuatingthehandcontrolfullyon.Failure
toinstallandusetheelectricbrakecontrol
willresultinexcessivebraketorquewhen
stoppingatrailerloadedtolessthanbrake
capacity.
CAUTION
Ifyouhearanoisefromthetowvehicle
hydraulicsandthemachinecontrols
donotoperate,thehoseshavebeen
connectedincorrectlyandmustbe
reversed.
Note:Youmayhavetorelievethepressurein
thehosesofthemachineconnectingtothetow
vehicle,toensureacompletedconnection.
Important:Whenmakingsharpturns,
thehydraulichosesmaycontactthetow
vehiclewheels.Avoidmakingsharpturns,
ifnecessary,useabungeecord(arubber
strapwithhooksonbothends)topullback
thehosestowardthecenter.
LoadingMaterial
Loadthemachinefromthetoporfromtherear.
Formostmaterials,suchassandorgravel,youcan
useafrontendbucketloader.Formaterialssuch
aslandscapingtiesorfertilizerbags,loadfromthe
rearbyplacingthematerialontheconveyorbeltand
settingthehydraulicsintheloadposition.
Youmayneedtoremovethereargateforeasier
access.
Ifsacksofmaterialarebeingused,emptythesacks
intotheloader’sbucketbeforeloadingthematerial
intothehopper.Toensurestability,distributetheload
evenly,fronttobackandsidetoside.
