Situation:
Two different designs of Brake Assemblies have been used in the Material Handler 400 (Models
44930/44931/44933/44934).
When installing, servicing or adding brake assemblies to this machine, the correct brake assembly
must be used. The two types of assemblies discussed in this document will not work with each
other.
Visual identification of the existing brakes installed is required to assist with proper application.
Review the Parts breakdown illustrations attached below for correct application of Brake Kits 44942,
44943 & 44945.
This issue is related to the variation in Wheel Hubs discussed in Service Bulletin Specialty #11-01,
“Brake Drum Contacts Backing Plate”, published April 27, 2011. NOTE: Use Model 44930 & Serial

MH 400 Brake Kit Applications:
Brake Kit (Model 44942) – used when installing two brake assemblies on a MH 400 unit
previously without brakes. This kit includes controls and wiring for the tow vehicle. This kit is
compatible with 44943. (Used in mid-2010 thru 2011 MH 400 production)
Brake Kit (Model 44943) – used when adding two brake assemblies to a unit with two brakes.
This kit is compatible with 44942. (Used in mid-2010 thru 2011 MH 400 production)
Brake Kit (Model 44945) – used when adding two brake assemblies to a unit with two brakes.
This kit is not compatible with 44942 or 44943. (Used in TyCrop production up to mid-2010 and
Toro production 2012 & up)
