whenyoupurchaseit.Beforeusingthetoolfor
thersttime,placethebatterypackinthecharger
andchargeituntiltheLEDdisplayindicatesthe
batterypackisfullycharged.Readallsafety
precautions.
Important:Chargethebatterypackonlyin
temperaturesthatarewithintheappropriate
range;refertoSpecications(page9).

buttononthebatterypacktodisplaythecurrent
charge(LEDindicators).
1.Makesurethattheventsonthebatteryand
chargerareclearofanydustanddebris.

•Usethepowertoolforcuttingineitherdirectionin
aslow,sweepingactionfromsidetoside.
•Whentrimmingnewgrowth,useawidesweeping
actionsothatthestemsarefeddirectlyintothe
cuttingblade.
•Useanon-poweredhandsaworpruningsawto
trimstemsthataretoolarge.
•Ifdesired,youcanuseastringtohelpcutyour
hedgelevel.Decidehowhighyouwantthehedge.
Stretchapieceofstringalongthehedgeatthe
desiredheight.Trimthehedgejustabovethe
guidelineofstring.
