LubricatingtheBearings,

ServiceInterval:Aftereachuse—Lubricatethe
trunnions.
Monthly—Lubricatethepillow-blockbearings.
Every100hours—Lubricateallthegearteeth
aroundthepaddle-drivegearandpiniongear.
Note:Thepillow-blockbearingsareinsidethe
cowl—removethedividerplate(ifequipped)toaccess
them;refertoRemovingtheDividerPlate(page29).
GreaseType:No.2lithiumgrease.
1.CompletetheprocedureslistedinPreparingthe
MachineforMaintenance(page29).
2.Cleantheareaaroundeachgreasettingwitha
ragandlifttheplasticcapoffthegreasetting
(Figure38).
3.Pumpgreaseintoeachttingasfollows:
•Forthepillow-blockbearings,pump1shotof
greaseintoeachtting(AofFigure38).
•Forthefronttrunnion(CofFigure38)and
reartrunnion(BofFigure38),pumpseveral
shotsofgreaseintoeachttinguntilitstarts
tooozeoutofthebearinghousing.
Important:Pumpgreaseinslowlyand
carefullytopreventdamagetothebearing
seals.
4.Applygreasetoallthegearteetharoundthe
piniongear(DofFigure38)andpaddle-drive
gear(EofFigure38).
5.Wipeupanyexcessgrease.
