ServiceInterval:Aftertherst25hours—Inspect
thebeltsandadjustasnecessary
(belt-drivemodelsonly).
Every40hours—Inspectthebeltsandadjustas
necessary(belt-drivemodelsonly).
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceandshut
offtheengine.
2.Allowthemachinetocool.
3.Disconnectthewirefromthesparkplug;referto
DisconnectingtheSpark-PlugWire(page29).
4.Removethedividerplate;refertoRemovingthe
DividerPlate(page29).
5.MovetheclutchlevertotheOFFposition.
6.Examinethebeltsforwearordamage.Ifthe
beltsarewornordamaged,replacethem;refer
toReplacingtheBelts(page44).
7.Examinethepulleysforwear,damage,and
misalignment;refertoAligningthePulleys(page
46).
8.Installthedividerplate;refertoInstallingthe
DividerPlate(page29).
AdjustingtheBeltTension
Clutchairgap:2.5to6.5mm(3/32to1/4inch)
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceandshut
offtheengine.
2.Allowthemachinetocool.
3.Disconnectthewirefromthesparkplug;referto
DisconnectingtheSpark-PlugWire(page29).
4.MovetheclutchlevertotheONposition.
5.Measuretheairgapbetweentheenginedeck
andtherollerontheclutch(Figure65).
