Note:Thebesttimetochecktheengineoiliswhen
theengineiscoolbeforeithasbeenstartedforthe
day.Ifithasalreadybeenrun,allowtheoiltodrain
backdowntothesumpforatleast10minutesbefore
checking.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceandshutoff
theengine.Allowtheenginetocool.
2.Unlatchandremovethecowl.
3.Cleanaroundtheoilllercap/dipstick(Figure
18).

counterclockwise(Figure18).

6.Removeandchecklevelofoil.
Note:Ifoillevelisnearorbelowthelowerlimit
markonthedipstick,addonlyenoughofthe
speciedoiltoraiseleveltotheupperlimitmark
(bottomedgeoftheoilllhole);refertoFigure
18.
7.Checklevelofoil(Figure18).
8.Installtheoilllercap/dipstickandwipeupany
spilledoil(Figure18).
9.Installthecowlandsecurethelatches.
ServicingtheAirCleaner
ServiceInterval:Every50hours—Cleantheair
cleaner.
Every300hours—Replacethepaperelement.
1.Disconnectthespark-plugwire.
2.Removethewingnutthatsecurestheair-cleaner
covertotheaircleanerandremovethecover.
Cleanthecoverthoroughly(Figure19).
3.Removethewingnutfromtheairlterand
removethelter(Figure19).
