OilAlertSystem
Theoilalertsystemisdesignedtopreventenginedamage
causedbyaninsufcientamountofoilinthecrankcase.
Beforetheoillevelinthecrankcasecanfallbelowasafelimit,
theoilalertsystemwillautomaticallystoptheengine(the
engineswitchwillremainintheOnposition).Iftheengine
stopsandwillnotrestart,checktheengineoillevelbefore
troubleshootinginotherareas
ChokeLever
Thechokelever(Figure5)isrequiredwhenstartingacold
engine.Beforepullingontherecoilstarthandle,move
thechokelevertotheclosedposition.Oncetheengineis
running,movethechokelevertotheopenposition.Do
notusethechokeiftheengineisalreadywarmeduporthe
airtemperatureishigh.

Thethrottlelever(Figure5)controlsthespeed(rpm)ofthe
engine.Itislocatednexttothechokelever.Itsetstheengine
rpmandthereforecanincreaseanddecreasethespeedof
themachine.Forbestperformance,setthethrottleleverto
thefastposition.
Fuel-ShutoffValve
Thefuel-shutoffvalve(Figure5)islocatedunderneaththe
chokelever.MovetheshutoffvalvetotheOnpositionbefore
attemptingtostarttheengine.Onceyouhavenishedusing
themachineandyouhaveturnedtheengineoff,movethe
fuel-shutoffvalvetotheOffposition.
On/OffSwitch
TheOn/Offswitch(Figure5)allowstheenginetostartand
alsostopstheengine.Thisswitchislocatedonthefrontof
theengine.TheOn/Offswitchismarkedasfollows:
•l(On)—theignitionsystemisOnandthefuelow
throughtheswitchisturnedOn.
•O(Off)—theignitionsystemisOffandthefuelow
throughtheswitchisturnedOff.
Note:Tostartthemachine,youmustrstmovethiscontrol
totheOnposition.Whenyouwanttostoptheengine,move
thisswitchtotheOffposition.
RecoilStarterHandle
Tostarttheengine,pullontherecoilstarterhandle(Figure5)
quicklytoturntheengineover.Theenginecontrolsdescribed
inFigure5mustallbesetcorrectlyfortheenginetostart.
