•Draingasolinefromthefueltankwhenthe
engineiscold.Dothisoutdoorsinanopenarea.
Wipeupanygasolinethatspills.
•Neversmokewhendraininggasoline,andstay
awayfromanopenameorwhereasparkmay
ignitethegasolinefumes.
1.Stoptheengineandapplytheparkingbrake.Allow
theenginetocool.
2.MovethefuelvalvetotheOffposition.
3.Removethefuelsedimentcup(Figure24)andempty
thefuelfromit.
4.Movethefuelvalve(Figure24)totheOnposition,and
drainthegasolinefromthefueltankintoasuitable
container.
5.Replacethesedimentcupandtightensecurely(Figure
24).
6.Loosenthedrainscrewtodrainfuelfromthe
carburetorintoasuitablecontainer.
7.Installthedrainscrewwhenthecarburetorisdrained.

Maintenance
AdjustingtheTransmission
ReturntoNeutralPosition
Thehydrostatictransmissionisequippedwithaself-centering
devicethatcenterstheswashplatetostoptheowtothe
wheelmotors,stoppingthemachine.Ifthemachinecreeps
inonedirectionwhenyoureleasethecontrols,adjustthe
transmission.Toadjustthetransmission,usethefollowing
procedure:
1.Stoptheengine.
2.Removethethrottlelevercablesatthetransmission.
3.Liftthefrontwheelsofftheground,andsupportthe
machinewithajackstand.
4.Startthemachine.Increasetheenginethrottletofull
speedwhilecheckingforfrontdrivewheelrotation.
Note:IfthewheelsrotateproceedtoStep5.Ifthe
wheelsdonotrotate,shutoffmachineandinstall
controlcables.
5.Notethedirectionalmovementofthefrontdrive
wheels.Shutoffthemachine.
6.Loosenthelockdownscrew(Figure28)untilthe
returnarmcanberotated.
Note:Ifwheelsrotateforward—rotatethereturnarm
counterclockwise.Ifwheelsrotatebackward—rotate
thereturnarmclockwise.
