ReplacingtheSparkPlug
ServiceInterval:Every100hours—Check/adjustthespark
plug.
Every300hours—Replacethesparkplug.
Sparkplugtype:NGKBPR6ESsparkplugorequivalent.
Airgap:0.70-0.80mm(0.028-0.031inch).
1.Pullthewireoffthesparkplug.
2.Cleanaroundsparkplugandremoveplugfrom
cylinderhead.
Important:Replaceacracked,fouled,ordirty
sparkplug.Donotsandblast,scrape,orclean
electrodesbecauseenginedamagedcouldresult
fromgritenteringthecylinder.
3.Setairgapat0.70-0.80mm(0.028-0.031inch)(

23).Installthecorrectlygappedsparkplugcarefully,
byhand,toavoidcross-threading.

4.Afterthesparkplugisseated,tightenwithasparkplug
wrenchtocompressthesealingwasher.
5.Wheninstallinganewsparkplug,tighten1/2turnafter
thesparkplugseatstocompressthewasher.
6.Wheninstallingtheoriginalsparkplug,tighten1/8to
1/4turnafterthesparkplugseatstocompressthe
washer.
Note:Aloosesparkplugcanoverheatanddamage
theengine.Overtighteningthesparkplugcandamage
thethreadsinthecylinderhead.
7.Pushthewireontothesparkplugandtightenit.

DANGER
Incertainconditions,gasolineisextremely
ammableandhighlyexplosive.Areorexplosion
fromgasolinecanburnyouandothersandcan
damageproperty.
Fillthefueltankoutdoors,inanopenarea,
whentheengineiscold.Wipeupanygasoline
thatspills.
Donotllthefueltankcompletelyfull.Add
gasolinetothefueltankuntilthelevelis25
mm(1inch)belowthebottomofthellerneck.
Thisemptyspaceinthetankallowsgasolineto
expand.
Neversmokewhenhandlinggasoline,andstay
awayfromanopenameorwheregasoline
fumesmaybeignitedbyaspark.
Storegasolineinanapprovedcontainerand
keepitoutofthereachofchildren.Neverbuy
morethana30-daysupplyofgasoline.
Alwaysplacegasolinecontainersontheground
awayfromyourvehiclebeforelling.
Donotllgasolinecontainersinsideavehicleor
onatruckortrailerbedbecauseinteriorcarpets
orplastictruckbedlinersmayinsulatethe
containerandslowthelossofanystaticcharge.
Whenpractical,removegas-poweredequipment
fromthetruckortrailerandrefueltheequipment
withitswheelsontheground.
Ifthisisnotpossible,thenrefuelsuch
equipmentonatruckortrailerfromaportable
container,ratherthanfromagasolinedispenser
nozzle.
Ifagasolinedispensernozzlemustbeused,
keepthenozzleincontactwiththerimofthe
fueltankorcontaineropeningatalltimesuntil
fuelingiscomplete.
1.MovethefuelvalvetotheOffposition,thenremove
thefuelsedimentcupandO-ring(Figure24).
